I really like living so close to Pasadena. There are some cool spots out here that just remind me of another time in Houston. I am glad they preserve that vibe. Beautiful murals inside and out, good and lots parking, festive as all hell. Not sure how long the joint has been here, but it was my first time. I walked into this place on a Saturday morning off a recommendation from a family member and I really liked it. Walking in, Tejano, Norteño, Cumbia music over the speaker system at a good volume you can actually jam to the tunes and still have your conversation ( I imagine… i was solo lol). Families talking, laughing and carrying on. Really nice vibe, I feel. I sat at the bar as I like to sometimes at restaurants and especially diners. Service was good and attentive. I did not feel any rush whatsoever and was actually just enjoying sitting around in the environment.
Menudo was delicious, all the fixins chopped up and fresh, limes, fresh and not the sad limes you get at some bars. Good tortillas flour and corn, barbacoa and asada were great. Full bar! Mexican Revolutionary photos, folk metal art, and good advice
“We DO NOT have wifi! Talk to eachother and pretend its 1995.”
I just love that.
I’m marking it down as a “favorita” for sure. But yeah, I’ll be back for sure. I need to go get a beer and tequila there some time!

Took My kids to enjoy some Mexican food, mini tacos were ok not what I expected. Carne guisada plate in my son’s point of view not that good not much flavor I tried a piece of meat yeah it was taste less. Burrito had a lot of flavor many ingredients but needed more beans to give it that extra kick. Tampiqueña plate was good but rice had no flavor. Honestly we tried it once so that’s good, but sadly won’t be stopping by again. It’s hard for me to get my kids to enjoy some good Mexican food around south houston. But I try and take them out once in a while. Lol Great customer service good thing we went during the week and less people were there.

This is a $7 kids breakfast plate. Food isn’t tasteless at this restaurant but I’ve had better food and more portions at other places for the prices at this restaurant.

Just know that when you visit this restaurant you will be charged a 15% gratuity for 5 people. Make sure you read the fine print before you eat there. Not sure the waitress gets the money.

Very authentic food served here! Unsure of why it has an average rating. The artwork and murals definitely add to the authenticity of this place. The food was excellent and service was good. With competition high for best Mexican restaurants in Pasadena, it’s not hard to say that the food here is in the top 5.

Food was good but the waitress marcel was a bit slow. The margarita didn’t really have any alcohol in it so I had to switch it for a pineapple juice with Malibu and a shot of 1942

Were from SC & new to Houston and decided to try this place for its Menudo today. It was delicious, especially since it had the hominy which is how they make it in Coahuila, im so glad I decided to try,
my daughter got the milanesa and she said it was good but surprisingly the rice and beans were just ok. I always say if the rice and beans are good and flavurful then everything else normally is hahaha
Well i know now when I want Menudo this will be a good ‘To Go’ place. The service was good and everyone was friendly and the decor was absolutely wonderful!
Our waitress was busy serving other customers and we kept waiting for our check so we sat there and sat there and sat there, i noticed people going to the corner of the bar to pay so i decided to get up and pay and so that was my only salty moment but overall good and defenitly recommend

The parillada is my absolute favorite. Customer service is top notch. The waitress remembers our order when we walk in. I don’t mind to 20 minute drive down Spencer from my house just to eat there, it’s that GOOD!

Been coming here for a while, since I work down the street. This time we Ordered liquados through DoorDash, after sipping on the drink we found pieces of plastic, at first we thought it was the banana fibers but when I choked on a piece and spit it out is when I noticed it was PLASTIC! Upon calling the establishment to politely inform of the issue, the rude one who answered said she don’t know how that got in there told me to report it to DoorDash and hung up. Customer service has gone down dramatically in the past year.

The place wasn’t busy, I’m surprised since Sunday mornings are always busy with taco orders. With that being said, it’s a SEAT YOUR SELF restaurant so no you won’t be greeted and seated which I like. Our waitress was a little slow after we ordered. She forgot my mother’s straw also a spoon. Didn’t really check on us or get me another drink till we were almost finished. She was more focus on cleaning everything than us which sucked but at the same time showed good work ethic. I also hate how you have to pay the check in the corner. I think that is stupid especially if it’s extremely busy. It would be crowded by the bar where you pay. Overall the food from the chicken fajita was amazing. The refried beans actually had whole beans which I liked. The rice was normal and the chicken was well seasoned. I also got flautas de pollo and it was very good. I recommend this restaurant. I think it’s one the good ones in the area.
