Willie Jewell Daniels was a 16-year-old girl with no home and no means. The Adeeb Family rescued Daniels from the streets of Jacksonville and offered her a job at their legendary Green Turtle Restaurant and later, Bono’s Pit Bar-B-Q in Jacksonville, Florida. As she went to work in their family restaurants, she quickly proved that she could cook almost anything and commanded respect in the kitchen. They soon discovered an amazing lady who would change their lives forever. Not only was Willie Jewell an exceptional cook, but she had a sharp wit and an immeasurable heart.

Willie Jewell’s is amazing! The burgers are juicy and packed with flavor, and the wings are some of the best I’ve had – crispy, saucy, and cooked just right. On top of the great food, the service is excellent. The staff is super friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to!

I really don’t know what’s going on with this place. I have ordered from here several times and everytime I do, we spend almost $100. The ribs this time around were NOT it. They were so hard, and like you had to chew it for almost 20 mins just swallow it. This has never happened with this place before. They usually have the BEST BBQ I. Town, but today wasn’t it. The Brisket was bomb. So tender and wonderful. And I love ribs and was so angry that I spend over $85 on meat a slab of ribs that will go to waste because you literally cannot eat them.

My meal was very good. However, there were a couple of things that cost a star. First, my Mac and cheese was cold. Second, the warm peach cobbler was a microwave job (with surface of the sun hot spots and cold spots). Third, my chicken fingers were heavily breaded. Personally, I like a thinner coating… but that is my taste.
Overall, the meal was good and I will come back. I just might change my order (they have tons of BBQ items).

Aug. 27, 2021 Update: we ordered to go again. I think they need to train the part time cook how to properly slice beef brisket. Cut against the grain, not along the grain leaving super long muscle fiber. Also, make them thick slices is fine, but not random chunks.
We ordered 2 lbs of briskets to go. They have nice smoke ring and very moist. The soft parts pretty much melt in my mouth.
We also tried the 4 kinds of BBQ sauce. I like the vinager based. Taste very much like the ones from the Carolinas.

I went there for a quick bite other than the outrageous prices for an individual which was almost $20. The food today was overcooked hard as a rock and next to no flavor and when they asked me about it as I was going to leave, I told him that it wasn’t good. They tried to rectify. The situation was putting in a new order. I politely declined and said no, only due to the fact that if it was screwed up the first time and I could hear them laughing joking back there and we normally takes only about 10 minutes to come out took almost 20 to come out and as I was leaving Some guy looks like you just got Paul working in the kitchen was making jokes and I heard them say about the interaction. I had with a gentleman no offense because the food wasn’t good today and they were laughing and joking.

Willie Jewels BBQ consistency makes them a must stop in this area, very good value/ quality
/ quantity ratio, the generous portions and the excellent quality of the products they serve never disappoint. Excellent service in a cool relaxed setting where you order first, pick your seat, get your drinks and any of the 4 different bbq sauces. They get your food to you in no time, 3 to 4 minutes tops. 4 different tvs, outdoor seating available and some local and macro beer selection.

I’ve had a lot of barbecue in this South and I’ve also been to Kansas City barbecue and some Texas barbecue too. So I gotta say that Willie Jules is the real thing. My favorite is the pork sandwich. It’s not like pulled pork. It’s got chunk pork on it fabulous. I also like the collard greens, which is really hard to get north of the mason Dixon line wonderful place wonderful food, wonderful people.

Ordered from UberEats. Constantly disappointments in the past but decided to give it another shot. Nothing changed. Missed order notes and I only got 2-ribs on their 3-meat COMBO Platter. And they gave me only the mushy part of the brisket, barely any meat. Portions are definitely A HUGE LOSS for the consumer. Maybe they’re different in-house?? I may never know.
