We found this hidden gem and had a great experience for lunch. I had a chicken salad sandwich on sourdough bread, a bag of chips, a bowl of cheesy potato, ham soup, a drink and a cookie all for $16.50. The service was wonderful, the food was great and prices very fair. It’s cozy and clean. There are books if you want to go and relax and read, there is a checker board and an outer building you can go hang out with and eat your lunch if you would like with adoptable cats from the humane society. It cost 10$ for an hour. Over all had a great experience and will definitely be back.

I had some cupcakes made back in July for a baby shower and I sent in the picture of what I want the to look like it. Well they were far from it. First they lost my order and tried to say they didn’t and then when I got my cupcakes they were not what I want and they were very dry. I would NEVER recommend this bakery to anyone. First pic is what I wanted with the fond on top and the second pic is what I got. Not the same even though the owner tried tell me this is how she does her cup cakes. Well they were awful and I was very disappointed. I should have just went to Walmart and got cup cakes.

We really love Defying Gravity! We have gotten a few birthday cakes from this bakery and I stop in any time I am running errands in the area. The cookies are SO good. We also always get the breakfast sandwiches – they’re delicious! My husband got a cream horn our last visit and I had a bite and it was amazing, definitely adding that to our list of goodies to grab next time we come in!
Last visit we came in with our very young and enthusiastic sons (2 and 4, with allergies) and everyone was so friendly and accommodating! Great experiences every visit – solid food and friendly staff! (Plus it’s fun to see what fun cakes everyone is working on in the kitchen!)

Gutted Pumpkin
Not a big review person but wow. I ordered a Craving Carmel latte and a cinnamon bite, both had such a strong chemical smell and taste that I took one sip and bite and felt nauseous. I don’t know what could have made them smell and taste like that, I’m sure there is other things here that are better but I’m not gonna waste my money trying to find out.

Goodness. If you have tried their cheesecake you haven’t lived. Mine was done and ready to be picked up when I was told it would be. This is a brownie crust with New York style cheesecake. Absolutely phenomenal. You won’t find a better cheesecake locally. They have tons of other desserts and great soups and sandwiches. But honestly it’s hard to remember they have that stuff when their cheesecake taste this good. I should have ordered two. Next time I’ll know better.

I brought my family for the Thanksgiving Cookie decorating. Michelle and her troop of assistants were awesome! I brought my two 13 yo nieces and my cousin brought her granddaughter, and we all had a good time, and the cookies were delicious! the sourdough bread is fantastic too! We will be back!

These cakes are absolutely amazing! This bakery hit it out of the park! Pumpkin vanilla swirl was the cake, it is the best cake ever! I really appreciate them working with me on the layers, too! I will definitely be back for all my cake needs! Worth every penny! Oh, and they’re cookies, mouth watering good! Thanks a lot ladies, you made our day!!!

I reached out to Michelle during my wedding planning process about making our wedding cake. I had seen they offer gluten free cookies and other goodies, and asked if they could make a gluten free wedding cake. Michelle was so kind and thoughtful throughout the entire process, even running back to the bakery on my wedding day after delivering the cake to get me a serving stand because the cake wouldn’t fit on the stand I had purchased. Our cake was beautiful and so delicious, none of our guests knew it was gluten free and they ate the entire thing! My only regret from my wedding day, was that I didn’t save more cake for myself! Thank you Michelle for making our special day extra sweet!!!

I’m never disappointed with the food/order we have. But I wanted to also share how awesome Todd is! I called from my car, over the speaker and had a great conversation with Todd to order “off” the menu. Fast forward a few days later, my daughter asked me how Todd was doing (ha!) I was very confused who Todd was. But, he was so personable, she assumed he was a client or friend, and I thought that was a great interaction for her to overhear between two strangers! Thanks for being a good human, Todd!

We’ve ordered a bunch of times and it’s always been great. The cookies, cupcakes, and muffins are always exactly what we wanted and taste amazing. Just a heads-up, we order UofM stuff and someone always slips a “go Green” note in there. They’ve definitely got my business.
