I went with my everyday start before work. Turkey and eggs. Simple, clean, exactly what I wanted. Turns out that was Vince Gill’s standard order here too. He has called himself a creature of habit and used to eat breakfast at Noshville every day. As a funeral director, I guess I am a fan of his music or at least I must be since I play it most days at work. That is a funeral director joke.
Nannette took the spicy route with the spicy omelet. Plenty of kick, generous fillings, and still fluffy. We split one of their hubcap size pancakes. Light on the fork, crisp at the edge, and big enough to make you negotiate bites. One pancake is plenty for two if you are honest with yourself.
Noshville’s draw is not just the food. It is the cadence of the room. Regulars at the counter. Staff moving with purpose. The kind of place where your coffee gets refilled without asking. If you want a Nashville breakfast that feels like a neighborhood ritual, pull up a stool here.
Come for the classic deli comfort. Stay for the atmosphere and the people who make it feel like a small town inside a busy city. Place was packed, and it earned every seat.
Friendly, veteran staff. Good busy buzz vibe. Favorite breakfast spot in southwest Nashville.
I arrived around 9:45, and I was seated immediately by a very fun host. My server was April, and she was kind, attentive, and even a little funny also.
I ordered black coffee and water, as is my usual. They arrived quickly, and I ordered my breakfast: lox, eggs, and onions. I chose the everything bagel and to keep the potatoes as my side. This was an excellent choice! The potato cakes were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The lox, eggs, and onions paired wonderfully with the potatoes in what was just simply a perfect bite. As an afterthought, I think a touch of sour cream may have topped it off, but it really didn’t need anything else. They have it and I totally could have ordered some. I might next time. The lox was so delicious that I ordered some extra to go with my everything bagel I am taking home.
All together, this was $28 + tip, which is pretty affordable for 2 breakfasts in Nashville, and my breakfast was pretty quick. I paid and got my takeaway lox before 10:30!
They’ve been in business since 1996 for a reason. Though 1996 doesn’t seem that long ago, it’s apparently been quite a while
