Straightforward Mexican restaurant for classics like gorditas, chilaquiles, fajitas & enchiladas.

The food was good. I had the fried carnitas gorditas with rice and beans. My wife had the pork in red Chile with Nepalese. I thought her food was better. Everything was season just right and the portion size was good. I also had the chapurrado which was not too sweet, the Agua de Tamarindo was a little too sweet and lacked the Tamarindo flavor. Overall a good choice for a late breakfast or lunch. I would recommend this place.

This place is nothing special, just another regular Mexican restaurant. I had high expectations because of how much people kept talking about it ( friends and family ). I had a carne asada taco ( not pictured ), and a potato and egg with cheese ( pictured below ) and it was okay. The horchata was alright, not too sweet and had a good amount of cinnamon. The lady’s are nice, so they have good customer service but it’s not over the top. I don’t think I will be giving it another try, but if I ever do I’d try something other than the breakfast tacos. For the amount of people that come here, I honestly thought it would taste better but the food lacks flavor.

Hermano, well I tell you they have great food and a cool atmosphere here, I would still be underselling! With just the drinks, the cafe de olla and the jamaica you’d be set! Then you get to the actual good, i mean, come on brother…excuse me, I meant hermano! And be sure to stop at the Mercado next door! Not HEB

Ms. Ruby always takes such good care of us. She keeps our cafe de olla full, makes sure our plates are warm, and we leave satisfied. The flavors of their dishes are top tier, and any substitutions are welcomed. The staff truly wants you to enjoy the food they make and sell. You could go here three meals a day for a week and still not eat everything on the menu!
Give it a try and ask to be sat in Ms. Ruby’s section, unless I’m coming in, then you’ll have to move or wait!!

Food and service at this place are always superb! When we say “homestyle” cooking, this is exactly what we mean. This is the food I grew up eating.
The chicken pozole verde, super hard to find in San Antonio, is excellent!! Las enchiladas mineras, which I’ve never seen outside of Guanajuato, are exquisite, as are the chilaquiles, el café de oya, and the always attentive service from the staff and owner. Glad I found this place while living in San Antonio. Will absolutely miss them!

A great little place for authentic food. When you sit down they bring you a little bowl of this melted cheese with chips. Try to share lol. Also get the beef gordita and make sure to get it fried. Crunchy delicious. And for a special treat, try the Café de Olla. The music was fantastic. The service was great. And when you’re hungry for a little interior food, this might be your place.

Came to this spot off San Pedro to try the food. Walked in at about 7:45pm and waited maybe 8 minutes. Guisado de puerco was on point. Beans were on point. Rice needed some love though. Not my preferred recipe but good nonetheless. Salsa? Dude! It was awesome. You gotta get the corn tortillas. Wife tried the enchiladas with picadillo. That was a lot of food. Even for a big girl. We’ll be back fo sho!

Food was amazing. Salsa was hot and service was great. Small parking but we parked on heb side. I was told this place was good and I agree. From Houston but I visit SA often. Their agua de pepino I recommend, big glass too. That’s how they bring it

Very good Mexican food from Guanajuato. Mayor razon por las 5 estrellas: Cada platillo tiene un sabor distinto y sabroso – eso los hace diferente a otros restaurantes Mexicanos.
What stands out is the difference in flavors in each dish offered.
Ofrecen ‘cafe de holla’. All dishes we had were worth having: tacos de rajas con queso , huevos caseros (almost like a mole -type topping on your eggs), huevos con salsa martajada (ask for a side of crumbled queso fresco for your beans on this dish) & carne en salsa roja (a good-sized portion).
Servers were friendly & helpful. It can get busy here, so be patient. It’s not a drive – thru.
NOTE: limited parking
