We were lured in by the smoke, and once we got out of our vehicle the smell was amazing.
We went inside and were greeted by a very friendly person to take our order.
We sat down at a booth in the back, and commented on how clean the place was.
Our number was called quickly to get our food. My husband ordered a cheeseburger, fries,and Mac and cheese.
I ordered a pork sandwich, mayo slaw and Mac and cheese.
My husband’s burger was served cold. We sent it back. It came back still cold!
The pork was okay. Not great. Mac and cheese was okay, not even really good. Slaw was okay.
We drive by whenever we go to Livingston, we have always been curious. Not any more. We Will probably not stop again.

The customer service was great and the atmosphere was very clean and nice, but the food was cold. My wife got a chicken breast sandwich and the inside of the chicken was pink and it was cold. I got a pint of potato salad and it had no taste to it whatsoever and it tasted like a wet dog. It was disgusting.

Pork shoulder so tough the fat wouldn’t come lose unless you cut it with a knife and lacks flavor. Baked beans are gross, most likely served from a can. French fries were flavorless and weren’t even salted.

I eat at backyard barbecue, at least once a week. The sliced pork shoulder is good. They’re hmm, vinegar. Slaw is probably one of the best, but my favorite is their hamburgers. Handmade, good size fresh when other restaurant’s going smaller and cheaper meat, it doesn’t even taste like meat. It’s good to know you can go place. And get a good cheeseburger, especially when cooked on a grill, can’t beat it. Especially for the price

I read some of the post on here with not so good reviews but everyone is different, I’ve not eaten at the new location in lafayette but when it was in Monroe County. I never got a bad plate of bbq from them. I always got shoulder or pork chops but going to try the new location soon. I hope it’s as good as it was in Monroe. Damn it was always good!!

Backyard BBQ is one of my favorite spots to eat! My personal favorites are the dipped hotdogs, the shredded sandwich, and their delicious baked beans.
The staff is just as amazing as the food, they’re always friendly and welcoming. And let me tell you, they sure know how to make a proper sweet tea!

Roadside Mom & Pop BBQ Joints are my favorite. I could smell the smoke rolling before I drove up. BBQ Sandwich was delicious! I’d like to try more food from here, next time I’m through this area. Stop & eat, you won’t be disappointed!

I just got a grilled chicken breast (no bun) along with green beans and mayonnaise slaw. It was delicious!! I always get the chicken without the bun because I think it is more flavorful. Also in my opinion the mayonnaise slaw is some of the best I have ever eaten ANYWHERE. The green beans were delicious also!

I’ve had their food multiple times always good and consistent. Went today to have the driest and most overcooked meat I’ve ever had. I watched as the fresh fries came out only to be served some cooked 2 hours ago. They also gave me green beans instead of Mac and cheese. We ordered 3 plates and they were all consistent that’s for sure… tenderloin is difficult to cook and be moist but there is no excuse for the two shoulder plates that tasted like deer jerky.
