Came in right at lunch rush yesterday so we waited a bit, but we took that as a good sign that the place was popular and had good food. Service was okay. Waitress wasn’t super friendly but it was lunch rush. Took awhile to get our food but it was good and hot. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. Didn’t get any water refills until we were done with our meal. Took awhile to get the check as well even after the rush was over. Despite all that, we will definitely come back to try the burgers and ice cream next time we’re in the area.

The service here was very friendly and welcoming, like a you’re family vibe. Very small town, old school with the atmosphere and style which isnt bad at all, especially for a burger joint. Started woth the Jalapeno poppers, and you need to get them! The burgers are pretty big so the name lives up to the hype. Their smashburger isnt really a smash Burger, more like a double cheeseburger but it was good for sure and the bun they put it on a really good!, my 2nd favorite burger for the local places in Abilene so far!Get the chili cheese fries, they are good, but to be honest the fries on their own lack seasoning and flavor. The sweet tea is served in massive Mason jars which is always a plus. Could’ve been a little sweeter, tasted more on the half/half side but overall this place is good amd I will be back for sure! Overall id give this place a 8.1/10

one of the best burgers in town, was impressed with the fresh cooked buns. House cut fries were delicious. Fun lunchtime only atmosphere. Burger was slightly overdone, but I ate every bite anyway, it was seasoned perfectly. will try again.

The burgers are amazing6. It was a good-sized juicy burger on a sweet sourdough bunqoth all the fixings. The fries are hand cut and cooked in beef fat, another big pluse. The chill cheese tots were very good. Nice mild, flavorful chill with a good amount of cheese. Th ice cream is homemade, creamy flavorful, and not overly sweet. This is a very welcoming place. The servers were friendly and fast. We were welcomed on the way in and thanked on our way out. The America First flag flying out front along with the pro 2A signage and decor are another big pluse. This is the kind of American small business you want to support. We will definitely be coming back for more.

Lucy’s Big Burgers is big on flavor! From the juicy burgers to the homemade ice cream, Lucy’s Big Burgers is a must when in Abilene. The food is worth a visit alone, however the service deserves extra recognition. An elderly couple using mobility assistance devices entered the restaurant. When the owner Amy saw them and recognized that the next table to be seated was at a high table on another side of the restaurant, the owner directed the couple to a large table close to the entrance. I approached the owner after this as knowing others with mobility challenges would have wanted the same treatment for them. The owner then explained how she makes all the ice cream there and that chocolate is her favorite. The burgers we ordered were grilled to perfection – well seasoned without being overbearing. Their homemade ketchup packed a punch and went well with their fresh cut fries. We were less enthusiastic about their chicken bites but everything else beat our expectations. Highly recommend for the food and for the service. Note the opening hours: Monday to Thursday 11 am – 2 pm, Friday & Saturday 11 am – 9 pm, closed on Sundays

I got sat down, and it took 45 min to get my food. Service was slow it took a while to get my drink I ordered. There was another guy that came in after I did beside me and ordered after me, and he still got his food before me. My burger was good, and the chili cheese fries weren’t bad, but there were several hard, crunchy ones in it. To me, it’s not worth the wait for the service you get and the time waiting.

I paid almost $20 for a cheeseburger, fries, and drink. The fries tasted stale, when I bit into the burger I felt something hard which ended up being the toothpick. Like someone literally just placed or hid the toothpick in between the lettuce and tomato parallel not vertically sticking through the meat to keep everything intact. This could have turned out badly, especially if I were a child. I could have choked on a big food wooden toothpick that was placed parallel to everything inside burger as if it were edible. It was a horrible unsafe mistake and I have no reason to lie about my experience. I certainly didn’t deserve that. I know it’s fast food, but damn. Y’all need to slow down a bit in regards to food safety. Trust me, it’s not about not getting a discount. It’s really about my bad customer experience here. I’ve been to this burger joint several times and will never go back. I got one small container of ranch and almost didn’t get dressing condiments to put on the bread. I also didn’t receive any napkins. Whether that was intentional or not, I won’t be back and don’t recommend this place if you are military or veteran. It’s overpriced and you have to ask for the basic complementary items which should already be included without you having to ask. After asking for medium on the amount of ice, I got half a cup of ice and barely any soda. I guess they didn’t care about giving me my money’s worth. It’s okay because I won’t be back. I just hope that it wasn’t because I’m richly melanated. I wouldn’t trust eating food here. Hopefully this review motivates them to improve their food quality services and customer satisfaction.
