Working through a list of all diners in LA County and next up was Lisa’s. It’s a cash only, classic little diner over in West Covina. All these Route 66 diners have such a great history to them and most have great food as well. Inside is quite small, but they have booth and counter seating available, as well as some larger tables for larger groups. They don’t have outdoor seating. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out pretty fast. They don’t have a lot of traditional items on their menu but still have a lot of good options. Pricing is also very fair, I find that the places that are cash only tend to be less expensive because they don’t have to deal with credit card fees. There’s also a free, large parking lot right out front so parking is really easy.

As always, I started off with a cup of coffee and I was happy to see that these come in huge mugs and it is very strong. After two full cups I had a lot of energy and was ready to tackle my day. Given that they don’t have a lot of traditional items on their menu I decided to try one of their specialties, which is the Full Attack. It’s basically two biscuits with sausage and egg on top covered with gravy and honestly I thought it was really good. This is something that I never order so it was nice to try something new and I would recommend it.

Overall I would recommend, especially if you are in the West Covina area.

My son enjoyed his biscuits and gravy. The second time I visited it was with my sister, she was not impressed, especially since service was lacking. We noticed the regulars getting quick service while we had to wait and repeat our orders. It’s a classic American diner with a greasy spoon feel. Coffee wasn’t fresh both times I visited. Parking can be an issue as truckers seem to frequent this establishment.

I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The food was completely terrible. They need to hire a real cook or have them take cooking classes. Ham completely over salted covered with old burnt marks because they didn’t scrape the grill, eggs still raw, biscuits super dry and hard. No flavor of the gravy smothered on the plate. Not worth the price either on top of it. No wonder why that place is never busy. I love supporting small businesses but not this one. Either invest into better service or shut it down.

Been here a few times. Always good service and great food. It’s a decent size dinner. Depending on the time you go, you might have to wait but it’s not that bad. Stuff is always friendly and food has always been good! One big plus is that they have baby seats.

Love this place. They close at 2 which is a little funny but I got there at 1:30 and there were no issues. Burger was amazing, no wack Sysco fries, staff was so friendly and they had Forensic Files goin on the big TV. Solid ep.

Used to love to go to this place. If you’re not a regular the service is terrible and so is the food. Who charges twelve dollars for an order of fries? Not to mention when you ask for ranch , they tell you they don’t have any. Two pancakes an order of fries and a cheeseburger combo almost cost fifty bucks. They’ve eliminated a lot of stuff off.The menu is what we were told. Terrible service. Mediocre food. Yeah i’m over it.

I work close by, tried their food a while ago, it was for pick up and it was good.
I wanted to try it again but I have called to order and they didnt pick up.

Three different occasions with this one where I called mutliple times but none were responded. One of those times I decided to go. A lady (I dont know if it’s the owner) said the cook hadnlt showed up to work yet. It was almost an hour after their opening hours according to their working hours, and the cook hadnt showed up? Wow!!

Not only that, the lady didnt seem to be surprised nor was apologetic for the fact that a customer wanted to eat their food and they were limited to coffee and some entries but not cooked food.
I mentioned that I called multiple times but none answered the phone and she said nothing. Not even “Im sorry for the inconvenience”.
I’m not surpriced with the negative reviews for their service.

RIP Lisa’s coffee shop! After over a decade coming here for their amazing food. Today I walked in and noticed it wasnt busy as usual, all the old decor was gone and it had a different vibe. My first instinct was something was wrong and just walk out however I asked 1 of the only 3 people their if it was still the same Lisa’s and he said ” yes! We just remodeled”. I decided to give it a chance ( I should’ve went with my gut instinct), I ordered whatbibalways get and wat told there was no corned beef hash because the cook didnt take the cans out of the freezer! When the food came the biscuits looked and tasted more like bland dinner rolls, sausage looked and tasted like the fully cooked just heat and eat you buy at the market and the gravy was bland and thick as mayo…. needless to say just couldnt eat that do i got up to leave, Once at the register I was told the total was $40 even. They didnt hand me a bill or receipt all I know is I paid $40 for a coffee, biscuits and gravy ($21 on the menu) and 2 over easy on the side….. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEARTACHE just remember Lisa’s for what it used to be.

The place is really run down, 1st thing i noticed after I placed my order was the mold on the ceiling above the food window. Chipped paint and black vents. Lost my appetite.
Waitress disappeared to return smelling like put a stashed a cigarette butt in her pocket. Not to mention 20$ for biscuits and gravy. Hard oass
