Absolutely worth the stop in . Al though it’s an 8 minute drive from I 95 off route 17 S it was delicious! I eat more than I was prepared. The red fish was recommended by Ashley, my server. She was nice a great at her job. Thanks so much!! 5 stars.

I regret so badly for the many times we have drove past this place & never stopped. Our 1st time visiting & there was nothing disappointing about it. Freshest salad bar in town. I’m a salad bar snob & this spot on, was the best salad bar I’ve had in a long time. The service was amazing. Husband got the small order of the scallops & baked potato that came with the salad bar & he said it was excellent & the perfect portion. The ladies were so nice. The atmosphere is exactly what you would hope it to be with its name. Yacht rock type music on, low key, but very nice seating. We will definitely be going back soon.

Visited Captain Joe’s for the 2nd time this past Sunday. The first time was great. We came late for lunch around 1:30 this time and immediately the server acted as if she did not want to serve us an said it would be almost an hour wait for food after we were seated and then walked away. There were several empty tables, as the restaurant was not full. It took over ten minutes for her to return and I verified that it would take an hour to order anything. She said yes, so we decided to go elsewhere. Not sure why it would take an hour to fry some shrimp, fish, etc. that takes around 5-6 minutes max.

Pleasant atmosphere clean and friendly service. Stopped in for lunch and had the crab sandwich with fries, the oyster Poboy and onion rings.
Food is served fresh and hot. It takes time so don’t be in a hurry.

Not a place I would go out of my way to eat at again. Had the fried flounder, fried pickles, coleslaw, hush puppies and fried mushrooms as an appetizer. I hate to say this, but the coleslaw had the most flavor of all. Everything else was bland, no seasonings. A bit pricey, too.

Forgot to mention, servers were so great and helpful! …. Well, I’ve been living here for almost 20 years now and this place has always been there. My wife and dang near all her family worked for a stretch at some point. We used to eat here quite often but since my wife lost her lunch from eating there several years ago we’ve always been eager to stay away. We had a family reunion of sorts there last year and this and the food was better. I had the fried clams with fried pickles and the salad bar. It was very fresh and very good. The fried pickles had a weird flavor. Must’ve been the batter. Still have a fear of going there though because my wife got so sick years ago. So eat at your own risk. Salad bar is great though!

Popped by for soup and salad bar. Lots of items to choose from. Shrimp and rice and chili were soup options. Crab salad, pasta salad and chicken salad were all good. Satisfy the sweet tooth with banana pudding and chocolate delight.

The food is great and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The staff was very attentive but not overbearing. They have a great salad, soup, and dessert bar. I highly recommend this place.

The new waitress (name I can’t recall but she was a Caucasian lady, recently hired and from Minnesota & Colorado) was absolutely phenomenal! She left no detail to question, and was, most probably, the best waitress I’ve had in 20 years! We were there with a party of 10 for a Bday celebration, and she handled it with the ease of reading a child a goodnight book. No drink ever emptied, no order was delivered wrong, everything was hot, and she was most engaging and pleasant. She was the highlight of the event.
