The food (regular chicken salad and buffalo chicken salad – both with fries in the salad) was plentiful and tasty. My blueberry margarita was yummy. The service was excellent. And the ambiance … perfect weather (sunny and 80 with a slight breeze *sigh*), sitting under the cute tiki hut umbrella with the lull of the waterfall and good music in the background … if we hadn’t had another 4 hours to drive to get to Ohio we could easily have spent the rest of the day on that patio enjoying some more drinks and relaxing! Next time we pass through maybe we’ll have to plan on staying the night nearby so we can do dinner, drinks and some ax throwing. If you are in the area, give it a try!
Hoagie (no longer on the menu). They do have a NY Strip for $37.99. We opted for the pot roast (new on the menu). The meat was shredded and not a single vegetable in the sauce. Also ordered chicken wings and didn’t know the sauce that I chose was going to smother the wings. It tasted like buffalo sauce right out of the bottle. I had to ask for celery and then was charged $0.75 for ranch dressing. Isn’t celery and ranch dressing a staple with wings. Totally bummed on our visit. We were still eating and our waters were empty and had to wait for waitress to come back and ask if we wanted more water. We’ve told all our friends that we work with how tasty the steak on the rock was and now it’s no longer on the menu.
A combination entertainment venue and eatery, it is fully decorated in the theme of stuffed animals and hunting. All kinds of mounted and stuffed animals are everywhere – including the waterfall area out back. Part of the property is an axe throwing barn as well. With a bar and sharp axes, what can go wrong?
We stopped for the food though and liked what we got. They do not carry the theme too far in the menu – no cutesy names – and the general type of food is regular sandwiches, burgers, salads, and bar-style appetizers. Everything we ordered was very tasty and we certainly got our value’s worth in terms of quantity. For instance, the BBQ Chicken sandwich came with two chicken breasts, two onion rings, two pickle slices, and a mountain of chips. The cooks also take care on how things look – the salmon is the salmon salad is arranged in little rosettes! There was plenty of everything and we took stuff home as we could not finish what came on our plates!
We will definitely want to come back to try some more offerings!!
