This place is so cute & quaint! I’ve been coming here forever sporadically. Since we’ve moved very close, my kids & I walk here often. Great service, good, hearty food.

I would have loved to give this adorable place 5 stars. Real ceramic dishes made in the usa! Great coffee. Hands down it would have been so easy…but here’s what happened.
I was so excited to finally try a “chicken fried steak!”
And it’s on the menu here at a somewhat reasonable price so I went for it.
I could blame my expectations but after googling a bit…I was right.
It’s supposed to be a real steak, pounded thin and prepared lime fried chicken.
What I got was not that.
It was chopped meat
A pattie
NOT Steak!
You can see in the photos it was anything BUT a steak. I don’t know what it was but it was Nauseating!
I told my waitress I’ll pay for the standard breakfast without the steak-wannabe.
My waitress was AMAZING!! That’s why the 5 stars on service.
But the shift manager came over with an attitude (like it’s my fault) trying to explain that this is southern food.
I showed her what Google had to say and offered to pay for what I ate minus the steak. I think she was shocked at how fair I was.
She credited me the $4 difference but taxed me on the full amount
It’s pennies. I know. But it psst me off anyway.
I was waiting on a coffee refill and she refused to make eye contact. Finally a busboy passed by and brought coffee.
I won’t go back because of the shift manager.
What a shame.
The owner still claims it’s a “steak” but it’s a chopped beef(?) pattie. 100% not a pounded steak.
So if you go…just get something else.

Very classic American Diner styled food, known for their breakfast. I’d been here once before and had a stomach ache so I didnt really eat, and was excited to come back. Along with one other person, we ordered a waffle plate, a build your own omelette, with a side of bacon and a side order or biscuits and gravy. We got coffees too, which came with free refills. Everything came out in a timely manner, and tasted phenomenal. Would definitely come again.

I got the chicken fried steak breakfast and it was one of the best I’ve had. It did come with three eggs (I believe), hash brown, and toast. Along with the glass of water I also had a drink, don’t remember what it was called but it was light, it was perfect for an after work outing with a few coworkers. The parking was in the back, limited to maybe around 10 cars but plenty of street parking at 7am.

Stopped in yesterday for my first time and I had the biggest Chicken Fried Steak that I’ve ever had, and one of the better ones I’ve ever tasted. Henri’s is an old school classic LA diner in the valley with great service and fair prices. They have a small free parking lot in the back, but it was full when I arrived so I had to find neighborhood parking. There was about a 20 minute wait when I arrived, but I was dining solo so I took a seat at the counter and was able to sit immediately when I arrived. My server was extremely polite and was extremely fast with the coffee refills. It’s quite large on the inside and they have many different booths and tables as well as a large counter, which is where I sat.
For my meal I chose the Chicken Fried Steak Special, which is a larger version of the one that they have on the menu. It was honestly a giant sized chicken fried steak and had a side of hashbrowns and toast and two eggs. It was honestly delicious and a very large meal that I couldn’t even finish. I had a strong cup of coffee on the side all for $25 so it was a very fairly priced and filling meal. I would suggest to anyone and would say that this is one of my favorite diners in the valley.

Great caring service. Big portions compared to per dish price. Quick service. Standard diner food options, such as 3 egg omelet and liver and onions.
My wife loved her food. She said it’s the best, ‘like in New York’.

Claude was so friendly! Him and the other folk working there were a pleasure to talk to. I was there eating breakfast by myself and it was delicious. Not to mention the ceramic dishes were awesome! And the environment in the restaurant is so cozy! 10/10 old fashioned diner to have breakfast.

I’ve been coming here for years ,but sadly moved out of Canoga Park years ago. So when ever I’m in town I try my best to come in. I came in today and ordered my favorite item in the menu which is the California chicken sandwich. This sandwich was so amazingly delicious i would ordered it with a side of fruit and a cup of their chilli and ordered a grilled jalapeño.
Today I had it and the sandwich tasted very plain it was sad. The sandwich had no alfalfa or tomato. The bread seem to be different too . I don’t remember it being so fluffy. I still love the restaurant and the staff members. I do miss Priscilla she was so lovely. Elaine is there she’s super awesome too. I need to come in one day for breakfast the food looks really good. I posted a picture of how the sandwich actually looked like before compared to now. You be the judge amd tell me what’s wrong with it.

Very friendly place. No bartender so cocktail selection was limited. Long Island Iced teas pretty good. Great price. I got the dinner chicken fried steak. Ginormus serving and the grilled veggies excellent! The gravey needs more pepper for my taste.
My wife got the Philly Cheesesteak burger. Nice serving and she ate everything without even offering a bite!
Yes we will return!
