I recently dined at TQLA Mexican Kitchen & Cantina and had the Carne a la Tampiqueña, and it was an excellent choice. The skirt steak was cooked medium rare, incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor—truly the star of the dish. It’s served with rice and beans, which were solid and well-prepared, but the steak definitely steals the spotlight.
The dish also includes a cheese enchilada, which was rich and delicious, complementing the meal perfectly. To start, the chips and salsa were very fresh and full of flavor—always a great first impression.
I also tried the horchata, and it was made just right—smooth, refreshing, and not overly sweet. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. On top of that, the ambience of the restaurant is both cozy and vibrant, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed yet lively meal.
Overall, TQLA delivers on food, service, and atmosphere. Definitely a place worth coming back to. HIDDEN GEM

Love coming to this place their restaurant is always decorated so cute. For Christmas it looks so pretty the food is also good we had the tortas it was so good and our server was awesome. I completely forgot his name though.

Really cute spot! Automatic 20% gratuity on parties of 4 or more was surprising..just felt like it was less incentive for the servers to go above and beyond bc they know they’ll get at least 20% and likely won’t get more if they work harder..? Like zero vegetarian options..should really add a few in! Like adding veggies to cheese quesadillas (cheese quesadillas literally the only veg option and it’s an appetizer) or having bean tostadas or something..
The shrimp taco dinner was so good but a small portion for dinner. All of the refried beans on everyone’s plate at the table were cold. Really fun atmosphere and energy. Overall a great experience. Definitely a great spot to stop in at during the holiday season! The decorations are so fun.

If I could give a negative I would. Once my group of 3 sat there for 2 hours we were asked to give up the table for another reservation. We had already consumed over $200 and the manager Jose explained he couldn’t do nothing but move us to another area of the restaurant to continue with our service. This is the first and last time EVER visiting this place. The manager stated the waitress should have warn us at time of sitting about their 2 hours window, which they never mentioned. NEVER AGAIN. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Very cute restaurant with GREAT food! Loved our margs, chips & salsa, birria egg rolls and tacos. All the sauces were delish as well and the perfect amount of spice. Our sever Jose B was friendly & quick. We’ll be back!

We sat at the bar and Frankie made the night! He talked me into trying the seasonal watermelon margarita—I almost skipped it thinking it was just “watermelon flavor,” but when he said it was made fresh I was in. So glad I listened because it was absolutely delish! Between the great drinks, his energy, and the good vibes, Frankie is exactly the kind of bartender you hope for.
