Steamers in Southern Shores is awesome! They have the best seared tuna on the Outer Banks—super tender and full of flavor. The crab cake is amazing, and the strawberry salad with watermelon radish is fresh and delicious.
If you can, sit on the top-floor deck—the view is beautiful and makes the meal even better. The service is friendly, prices are fair, and we left happy. Can’t wait to go back! 5/5 stars.

Food was awesome, oysters were fresh, we could see the ocean, and Paige was a top tier server. Visited on a Friday around 4:30-5pm and got seated right away, beat the dinner rush. We went to awful Arthur’s (the oyster bar) a week ago and the oysters here were way fresher and more delicious. Actually had a chance to talk with the owner and she told us Awful Arthur’s was one of her first jobs in the ‘80s and that experience is what gave her the gumption to open her own place. Great seafood, great service, great experience. 10/10 do recommend.

My husband and I used Steamers for our wedding catering and they absolutely killed it! Cassidy was my point of contact throughout the planning process and was so helpful every step of the way. The wait staff was pleasant and the food was just as good on our wedding day as it was at our tasting. Plenty of options to choose from, all very fresh and delicious. Best meal and experience my wife and I ever had! The food was absolutely amazing! Our waitress Trish was an angel. My wife had the rockfish chef special and I had the best clam chowder and oysters ever! The rockfish special was beyond impressive. We came by recommendation from our hotel check-in and they were spot on with the recommendation.

Great experience especially with friends. Outside seating, close to house we were staying at. Food was delicious, not massive portions but enough… pricy but worth it. Service was fast and friendly and the drinks were heavy but just right with alcohol. Over all recommended.

We have dined at Steamers multiple times. We eat here every time we are in the Outer Banks. They also catered our wedding, and all I can say is they were exceptional! Our guests are still talking about the food. They catered to us to make sure we had plates before everyone else and we did not have to go get them. The food is always outstanding and the service is exceptional!

This was our first time in the Southern Shores area and Steamers did not disappoint! We arrived at 4 for their opening and were promptly seated with our pup on the upper patio. The lower and upper level of outdoor seating are under cover, and you get a nice breeze coming from the ocean. Our waiter arrived to greet us with a bowl of ice water for our dachshund, was quick to take our drink orders and tell us the specials. We both got the street taco special of the day, which was cobia and was delicious. Served to assemble yourself, everything was fresh and flavorful. The jicama slaw was a nice touch and one I plan on using for fish tacos at home. The sangria is freshly made and delicious on a hot summer day. For $22, the pitcher is an absolute steal. Highly recommend if you’re looking for fresh, local food and great service while dining with or without your pup!

Our entire group on vacation went here (six kids and six adults). The staff did a good job at getting us a long table so that we could all sit together.
There were several mixed drinks ordered. The old-fashioned was the only one that we had to send back (wasn’t any good). But, they replaced it with something else.
They had a couple chef options, which were good choices for seafood lovers. One was the halibut (picture attached) in another one was fish that was similar to grouper.) we can’t remember what it was called).
One guy got a pound of steam shrimp which she said was very good. The other buddy got crab legs and his only complaint was there really wasn’t a lot of crab legs with one order. Wish there was more.
Overall, great atmosphere inside the restaurant. The floor plan is wide open, so you don’t feel like you’re squeezed into any little corner or anything like that. The bathrooms were cleaned.
