Blue Ghost Outpost is one of those places you’re instantly glad you stopped at.
Tucked away like a true mountain outpost, it feels cozy, intentional, and full of personality from the moment you arrive.
The coffee menu balances solid classics with creative seasonal drinks. The specialty lattes are thoughtfully made, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented. Nothing is overly sweet, just well-crafted and comforting.
Inside, the space is warm and inviting with an outdoorsy vibe, curated snacks, and a true community feel. The staff are friendly, patient, and happy to offer recommendations.
Whether you’re passing through or making a destination stop, Blue Ghost Outpost is absolutely worth it — a memorable little spot you’ll want to return to.

So happy to finally have a coffee shop in J Creek! LOVE the vintage camp vibes & background music choices were awesome as well. I’ve visited multiple times since Blue Ghost has opened a couple weeks ago. Coffee is perfect, love the special lattes. I’ve also had a great smoothie. They also have snacks, provisions, pastries, & sandwiches from 828. The high test deli icecream sandwiches are SO good! Love that Kristen is sourcing locally & promoting lots of local businesses. There is space indoors & outdoors to sit. Staff is very friendly, kind, & welcoming.

A very cozy and pleasant place. I was genuinely surprised to find such a lovely café in a remote area. The coffee is delicious, the pastries are fresh and tasty, and the staff — including the owner — are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend stopping by!

We were staying at one of the RV parks nearby for the night. My wife saw the Blue Ghost on Google Maps. So on a chilly morning we walked over to the Blue Ghost looking for a hot caffinated beverage to wake us up.
We ordered a S’mores drink and a Mocha with extra shot of espresso and a hot chocolate for our little one. The presentation was fantastic even though we asked them to make our drinks in our personal cups so they would stay hot longer and they kindly agreed. Blue Ghost is a must for those who live or are traveling through the area.. 5 Stars

Such a cute and unique place! I stopped by here twice on a trip, as it’s such a convenient location on the way to Maggie Valley or Waynesville. The coffee was incredibly unique, featuring all homemade syrups and seasonal offerings that were super tasty. The shop also has local sourdough and pastries, including my gluten-free ones along with local goods. The owners and baristas were super nice and welcoming with recommendations for sightseeing in the local area. I ended up spilling my coffee getting in the car, and they brought out towels for me to clean up and remade my drink for free! Genuinely such a great coffee shop and with such nice people that I’ll be coming back to whenever in the area.

Stopped into Blue Ghost Outpost – Coffee Bar this morning and it was such a great experience. The vibe is cozy, welcoming, and exactly what you want from a mountain coffee spot. We tried the Blue Ghost Latte and the S’mores Mocha — both were incredible. The Blue Ghost Latte had this perfect balance of flavor without being too sweet, and the S’mores Mocha tasted like a campfire treat in a cup. The staff was super friendly and the whole place just had an awesome, laid-back feel. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re in the area!

Stopped by on my trip back up north to Wisconsin! The guys were super friendly, and the location is superb. They even made a fantastic Miel, although they’d never heard that term for it before! Would love to come back on future road trips!

Magnificent and intimate coffee shop. The baristas are incredibly friendly and they seem proud of the business. You can tell they are passionate about their work because they take the time to dial in their espresso, they are knowledgeable about crafting their product, and they do so with a smile. The drinks are delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and professional. I walked out feeling inspired and I am grateful for the people who run this gem for the community to enjoy.

Fantastic spot, great baristas. Had a lot of options for food and other snacks you might need. Great stop before we hit the road. The only thing would be. I will be back for sure! I asked for it to be less sweet because I don’t like my coffee sweet, the gentleman said we don’t make our coffee sweet, and would make it less sweet. My coffee was still very sweet, so just know that our sweetness levels differ and make sure you communicate what you want.
