Lebanese Taverna is a go-to spot in D.C. for consistently good Middle Eastern food in a warm, lively setting. The flavors are fresh and vibrant, from the creamy hummus to the perfectly seasoned kebabs.
The mezze options are ideal for sharing, and the pita is always warm and fluffy. Portions are generous without being heavy, with a great balance of traditional dishes and crowd-pleasing favorites. Whether choosing lamb, chicken, or vegetarian options, the quality and seasoning stand out across the menu.
Service is friendly and efficient, even during busy times, and the atmosphere feels both energetic and comfortable—great for a casual dinner, date night, or group gathering.
Highly recommend if you’re in D.C. and looking for solid, flavorful Lebanese cuisine you can rely on.

The place is gorgeous, the food outstanding. I used to treat my colleagues to this restaurant every year when I was in DC for a conference across the street.
So I was excited to bring my husband here on our trip. It did not disappoint!! As good as I remember.
I cook Lebanese food well, so this was a real treat.
I think it’s the best Lebanese restaurant I’ve eaten at in the US (maybe tried some in 6 cities or so, including Detroit which is known to have a super large Lebanese community).
My salute to the chef & owner for staying consistently excellent & authentic.

Service is slow. They were out of some dishes on the menu. The Mezzas were mostly good. Best dish was the kibbeh and Laban’s and warm bread, but we had to ask for it a few times, also the chicken wings were good. The falafel weren’t freshly fried and just warm. The fries dish is an ordinary regular fries not what the menu says. Shawerma was dry and flavorless. The mixed meat main dish wasn’t edible- everything was dry and tough. They need to cook the meat medium, not extra well done!
We went to the other one in Tyson mall and that was much better. We were hoping that this one would be as good. Unfortunately we won’t be coming here again.

Lebanese Taverna on Connecticut Avenue in DC is a culinary gem that tantalizes the taste buds with its vibrant flavors. The chicken shawarma salad is a delightful symphony of textures and tastes, leaving you satisfied yet craving more. The chef samples offer a journey through Lebanese gastronomy, showcasing the mastery of the kitchen.
This location is well kept, well decorated, spacious and traditionally elegant.
The server, hailing from Morocco, adds a global touch to the experience. Their warmth and helpfulness elevate the dining experience, making you feel more like a welcomed guest than a customer. The ease of finding parking, conveniently located along the road with public options, is a rare treat in the bustling DC scene.
Lebanese Taverna isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a savory exploration that leaves you both satiated and yearning for another visit. The culinary prowess, coupled with the hospitable service, makes it a standout choice for those seeking a memorable dining adventure in the heart of the capital.

I cannot recommend Lebanese Taverna highly enough. We recently held a company wide dinner for 50 at the Joyce street location. Youssef and his team were EXCELLENT. The service was impeccable and the food just as good. They were incredibly kind, adaptable to a last minute change we had, and professional. We will
Absolutely be returning for future events and truly cannot express how wonderful Youssef and team were!

It’s a gem of a local chain. The warak enab, or stuffed grape leaves, are a must-try. My wife and I still remember their taste. We’re actually surprised that alcoholic beverages are not so expensive. The service and atmosphere are great. Our waiter was very kind. Everything, including the bathrooms, is very clean. I highly recommend it.

Great place 10 out of 10 recommend. Hit happy hour and ordered mint pizza, hummus, lamb and chicken swarma sliders, calamari and draft beer. So good. Needed a 3rd person to finish everything. It’s perfect execution of ancient favorite foods. You should go. Go tommorow w a friend or friends and enjoy and smile. Sixto was our waiter and is a 11/10 waiter. Jokes, service , energy is best of the best.
