This is a good spot to get quick, traditional-style Mexican food. I still like the food better here than most of the other local Mexican spots, but it really isn’t anything to look at or experience. The food is served on paper plates, even when you dine in, and one might think you could save a little money eating here, but it was $13 for 2 cheese enchiladas with rice and beans on the side. No chips and salsa, no waiters, and all of the tables were dirty, and I had to ask one to be wiped down before I could sit.
But the food is good. I probably won’t go back because of the high prices. I know prices are higher everywhere, but this is a little too much for such a basic meal with zero frills.

I order from here all the time and the food is amazing but today I got carne asada fries and they didn’t have all the toppings it’s supposed to have. So I called and went back and forth with the lady several times because of a language barrier (She didn’t speak much english) and I asked if sending a photo would help and instead of answering she hung up. I immediately called back and she declined my call. Amazing food but that’s it.

Got bean and cheese burritos from the drive through. We waited in the drive through for an excessive amount of time. The good: The burritos were pretty big for the price. Great portions if you’re really hungry or a big eater. The bad: The beans in my bean and cheese burrito were not seasoned at all and were very bland. There was a tiny amount of cheese in my burrito and it was all at one end of the burrito. It was starving, but still felt disappointed.

This was our first visit and we had a good experience. The refried beans were the favorite. We also liked the cheese enchiladas, rice, and burritos. There is a nice salsa bar to add more heat if you want it. We will be back to try some of the other menu items.

On the way to Moab we stopped @ this place by chance as all restaurants were closed on Christmas day. Good, tasty authentic mexican food for reasonable price. They had varieties of salsas which we had not tried before. We liked it.

Alvaro’s Mexican Food was just ok. The food was bland and needed salt. The salsas also had little flavor. The portion size were good and the overall ingredients were good. Just lacked flavor. The service was great! Friendly and fairly quick.

Alvaro’s Mexican food is really good. I usually get a carne asada burrito or breakfast burrito with no potatoes to go. I have also gotten the chicken taco salad. I usually walk inside to place my order to go. The restaurant is very clean. The food is quality and quite delicious.

Very good Mexican food at reasonable prices, though it’s not that spicy or hot by default; hot sauces, which look like they’re made in-house, are available on request in drive-thru or inside the restaurant.
The homemade taco shells are among my favorite features, definitely a treat. The tacos I ordered had a bit less filling than what I remember in the past but still taste really good.
It is no longer open 24 hours, but is open until 1 AM, except Christmas and major holidays. Easy to reach from the freeway.
Have been there again in 11/2023, and little has changed. Still very good Mexican, prices up a bit but that’s true everywhere.
