The outstanding experience was further enhanced by the excellent customer service and pristine environment. The staff was attentive and welcoming, ensuring our needs were met promptly. We were particularly impressed by the cleanliness and organization; our table was visibly cleaned and neatly arranged just before we were seated, which immediately established a sense of care and hygiene. This attention to detail in both service and maintenance made the dining experience not just satisfying, but thoroughly comfortable and professional. For these reasons, I can confidently award a perfect 5/5 rating.
The staff are very welcoming and the ambience is decent. They have outdoor patio for summer.
The price was decently reasonable for the quantity.
Highly recommend.
The service was good; our server was polite and friendly, no complaints there. We started with piña colada and mango mojito, and both drinks were refreshing and enjoyable.
For food, we ordered two thalis — one seafood (with shrimp gravy) and one BBQ thali. Looking back, we should have ordered different items to get a better variety, since both thalis came with almost the same things.
Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. While the presentation looked nice, the taste wasn’t there at all:
• The BBQ items were clearly old and reheated. The white chicken had a strange smell and wasn’t edible, the kebabs were dry, and the single BBQ shrimp was completely dried out.
• The naan bread was dry and stale — for the first time ever, we didn’t even want to pack leftovers.
• The salad was just raw vegetables with no seasoning.
• The samosa was clearly reheated and even had a dark brown burnt patch on the bottom.
• The shrimp gravy was okay, but nothing special.
• The lentil curry was bland and not enjoyable.
Overall, the food tasted like it had been cooked earlier and reheated rather than freshly made. For the price, it definitely wasn’t worth it.
Sadly, this was not the experience I was hoping for, and I will not be going back.
Started off with the Madurai Mutton Chukka—perfectly cooked, nice peppery kick, just how it should be. Usually the sea food might be a hit or miss, but their Meen Varuval (fish fry) was fresh, well-cooked, and had zero off-putting smell or frozen taste.
Naatukozhi Melagu Kuzhambu and Karaikudi Chicken Biryani were the real show-stealers. The chicken in the kuzhambu was juicy, tender with that bold pepper hit and a slight tang—so good! If you know Tamil Nadu style biryanis, this is a proper Karaikudi-style with seeraga samba rice. The masala and meat flavors blended perfectly.
If you’re vegetarian, they do accommodate requests even though it’s not on the menu. The only thing that needed a little tweak was the Era (shrimp) Varuval—felt like the masala didn’t fully soak in. And the Chicken 65 tasted good, but needed more meat, less flour and could’ve used more spice.
One cool thing—they serve Dalcha with the biryani, which you hardly find in the GTA.
Service, ambiance, and food presentation were all great. The staff was friendly and accommodating, which always makes a big difference. Highly recommend!
The ambiance and atmosphere of the place are also good. It has a lively, welcoming vibe, with tasteful decor that complements the overall dining experience.
The staff was friendly and made helpful suggestions.
That said, Biriyani and BBQ is a little on the expensive side, especially considering the portion sizes. While the food and experience were certainly enjoyable, the higher price point may not make it an everyday dining option for everyone. Nonetheless, it’s a great place for those looking for a special night out or a treat, offering great food, a lively atmosphere, and good service.
We will definitely come back again for other dishes.
