I’m a fan of this spot. It’s definitely incredible value without compromising on quality. Ordered the sushi & handroll course and it was excellent. It’s not the same caliber of sushi that you would get at a fancy omakase restaurant, but it’s for sure at least one or two notches above the regular generic sushi spots. The staff is super attentive too. Would recommend if you’re in the neighborhood.

Visited Domodomo again after a while and it was wonderful. The Domokase was fresh, well-balanced, and full of flavor.

The sushi and hand rolls have always been excellent, and the sea bass was incredibly delicious. Everything was so good that I was too busy enjoying the food to take photos!

We also tried the uni pasta, Korean chicken, and cucumber salad — all were amazing and highly recommended.

The staff were very friendly and explained each dish, which made the experience even better. Great food and service

Awful service and fishy sushi. Hostess refused to seat us claiming there were no openings and said nothing when I made the reservation on resy and got the same table she said wasn’t open.

The waitress gave us our water 10m after being seated then didn’t take our order for another 15m. The couple next to us came after us and was out before us. She was very attentive and talkative with the other patrons, but aside from asking us how everything was, she didn’t give us the same energy. She placed the platter of sushi on top of our soy sauce saucer and didn’t acknowledge it. As we tried to clean it up as it got all over our seats, she passed by and gave us an extra napkin (singular) and took away one of the dirty ones. She made no attempt to clean up the mess she made or offer us a new chair that wasn’t dripping in soy sauce. Every piece of salmon was extremely fishy. The rest of the sushi was truly so lackluster and clearly not worth the price. The pieces were smaller than the rice and for the price, I expected a much larger amount piece for each. Aside from the appetizers and udon, nothing lived up to the hype. Expensive prices for such small portions and bad quality fish. Not surprised they didn’t win the bib again. She also offered every other table dessert, but just gave us our check and walked away without saying a word. Will not return.

Had an amazing experience at Domodomo! The food was incredibly fresh and full of flavor✨Every bite felt special! I especially loved how beautifully everything was prepared. The atmosphere is stylish, making it perfect for a night out. On top of that, the service was outstanding. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect.
Definitely a spot I’ll come back to!

So the last time I was here, it was during covid and it was honestly amazing! Sadly this time I was very disappointed. I came here today with my family and we ordered two uni pastas, 1 order of the salmon truffle
salt sushi, 1 unagi foie gras hand roll, 1 order of the salmon tuna crostini., and 2 regular hand rolls for my kids. The salmon truffle sushi was such a disappointment, it tasted more like smoked salmon that you put on your bagel. The unagi foie gras was a complete joke, not how they used to make it. The salmon tuna crostini had zero flavor. It’s like they cut the raw fish and served it to you as is. Last but not least, what a huge disappointment was the uni pasta dish. It wasn’t creamy at all, and the uni was overly tourched. And they didn’t offer to take anything from
the bill. They did offer us dessert, and I chose three, but then they came back and said they can only do two desserts not three when we had 5 people with us and they didn’t clarify that when asking us in the beginning. So I said no thank you, and that was that. Never coming back here again. It’s not what it used to be. And they don’t care.

I really enjoyed this restaurant and it was the perfect place to meet up with old friends (domodachi!). We had the domokase and the waiter recommended a nice sake. I liked everything but my favorite was the Wagyu Carpaccio. The staff was friendly and attentive and the decor was beautifully understated.

I came to DOMODOMO with high expectations, especially since it has received Michelin recognition for several years in a row. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing.

I ordered several hand rolls, including Spicy Salmon with ichimi and fried potato chips, Salmon with sesame seed, Spicy Yellowtail with furikake and lime pepper, Negi Toro with scallion, Oyster Mushroom with seaweed crunch, Miso Black Cod with kabocha purée and pickled mustard seed, Blue Crab with garlic butter and mayo, and the Lobster roll. On paper, the combinations sounded creative and exciting, but the execution was a letdown. Every hand roll I received came wrapped in seaweed that was soft and soggy rather than crisp. Because the seaweed had been exposed to air for too long, the texture and freshness were completely gone. A proper hand roll should have warm rice, fresh filling, and crispy seaweed that cracks when you bite into it — here, none of that was present, and the flavors completely fell flat.

I also tried the Eggplant Katsu, which was very heavy and oily. The breading absorbed too much oil, and without dipping it into the sauce provided, it was nearly inedible. It lacked the delicate balance that this dish should have. As for sushi, I sampled one piece, and the vinegar flavor in the rice was overwhelmingly strong. The balance between rice and fish was missing, and the fish itself didn’t shine at all. For a restaurant that has held Michelin recognition, I was genuinely surprised by how weak the flavors were.

The only positives were the good service and pleasant atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the space itself has a nice modern vibe. However, when the food doesn’t deliver, it’s hard to overlook everything else. I honestly don’t understand how this restaurant continues to receive Michelin accolades year after year.

Overall, I left feeling disappointed and would not return. I was expecting a standout hand roll experience, but instead, I found myself questioning the reputation of the restaurant. If anyone is a fan of DOMODOMO, I would truly appreciate recommendations on what to order, because based on my experience, none of the dishes lived up to the hype.

We got the sushi hand roll prefix menu and it was fantastic, especially for the cost ($49). The truffle edamame was incredible, and after 830 they have a moonlight hour menu.

Sleek NoHo Japanese gem—DOMODOMO delivered a fantastic lunch! Food was outstanding: spicy tuna crispy rice crunchy and addictive with perfect heat, wagyu tataki tender and beautifully seared, uni hand roll creamy and briny, and a classic toro nigiri melt-in-your-mouth fresh. Everything tasted premium and balanced.
Service was polished, attentive, and friendly—great pacing. Atmosphere is modern and chic—dim lighting, elegant wood accents, cozy yet upscale energy—perfect for a special lunch or date.

We ordered sushi for around $100 and the food arrived warm, which is completely unacceptable for sushi. I called the restaurant right away, but the customer service was terrible, they didn’t offer any help and just told me to contact Uber. The sushi was so warm that I’m genuinely worried I might get sick from the few pieces I ate. Very disappointing experience. I expected much better for the price.
