Reviews
The food was decent, but frankly not exceptional. Given the premium price point, I expected significantly higher quality. Even accounting for the incredible view, the menu felt greatly overpriced. It’s a great spot for drinks and the view, but don’t expect the culinary value to match the high prices.
Appalling experience.
Gluey over cooked / over processed mashed potatoes. Prime rib lacked seasoning and was grilled… The menu bragged it was “slow roasted to perfection”
I never asked for it to be grilled nor have I ever prepared it that way. My wife and I cook… A LOT. The manager asked if we just mistook the clumps of flour in the clam chowder for potatoes. Filet medallions were over cooked but the lump crab Oscar was mediocre. I ate my green beans and two bites of the wedge salad. My pregnant wife mainly ate because she was hungry not because she enjoyed it.
The food was some of the worst I’ve ever been served. Certainly not worth the $300. Serving assistants (host, Busser, food runners etc) were very pleasant and hospitable. Restrooms were shockingly immaculate.
Our server was probably overwhelmed due to the holiday… so I wouldn’t say she did anything “bad” just out of touch. Definitely felt more of a diner / quick order experience. No food suggestions, no questions of allergies, didn’t even gesture to recommendation of wine / drink parings. Just repeated “are you ready?” Until we ordered and then repeated “you guys doing okay?”
As for the stained sweater manager that I spoke to. Shame on your customer service approach. I’m happy to spend money on food… after 20+ years working in the restaurant industry you tend to look forward to seeing what other creative minds put together.
This establishment is still serving the same mashed potatoes and chowder that were prepared in the 70s. Just reheated.
You gave us a $50 GC as an apology/ request we come back. I gave that to the table next to me that waited 15min to get their coffee… which I assume only took that long because you had pulled their and our server off the floor to speak to her. I’ll be reaching out to the restaurant separately from this review.
The service was top notch. Friendly, attentive but not too bothersome.
The atmosphere was somewhat casual yet classy. The view had lots to do with the atmosphere. The view was worth every penny.
The fish and chips were better than most but I wasn’t inspired to write home about it.
The Cioppino (basically a seafood stew) was really good. Really nice flavor from the tomato based broth. I thought I would try a steak the next time I go but I’m thinking maybe Cioppino?
Great place to impress first date(s) .
When we arrived, we waited about 5–10 minutes for the host to lead us to our table. No big deal. Once seated, the views were absolutely stunning. A staff member came by to give us water and take our drink order. Unbeknownst to me at the time, this woman was actually our waitress. She did not introduce herself, go over any specials, or provide that extra warmth that makes you feel welcomed. While disappointing, I was willing to look past this.
Unfortunately, the food was the most disappointing part of the experience. We both ordered steaks, and the quality of the cuts did not come close to matching the price. I ordered the red wine demi-glaze, which tasted overwhelmingly of vinegar. My wife ordered the onion and mushroom add-on for her steak, and it looked like it came straight out of a can. The mashed potatoes were fine. We both only finished about half of our steaks and did not bother taking any leftovers home.
I had high hopes for this restaurant given its prime location, but in my opinion, it needs significant kitchen and management improvements.
