Great experience! Food was great, atmosphere was great, & the company was great as well. We did the lunch excursion in February. I was afraid without foliage on the trees & stuff it would be bare, but the scenery was still pretty. Food was great. Our table had 4 of the 5 food options & everyone thought theirs was the best all the way through dessert. Tables were set for 4 beautifully. Overall I recommend this & will probably do it again. Only slight complaint is that it is kind of expensive, but it was a great experience.

Fantastic experience! We had a party of five to celebrate an anniversary and we felt special. They put two of us to one table and three to the other across the isle. Food and service was excellent. We took the mystery train and it was entertaining. The views were nice as the leaves are starting to change.

An enjoyable lunch on “My Old Kentucky Dinner Train”. Get there early- they are very busy. Go to website and purchase tickets, you pick them up when you arrive. You’re instructed where to board according to train car. Station staff are very friendly and helpful. It appears that handicapped persons could use the train but some might have difficulty. When seated your salad is already on the table. Servers then go introduce themselves to each of their tables. There is a small center aisle with a table seating 4 on each side (cozy but it works). Each car also has a small bathroom. Servers are amazing, constantly moving & are attentive to your needs. They do a fantastic job! The food was very good. As you eat the train rolls gently for 20+ miles, stops, then returns in reverse. You travel out of town through residential & farmland wth distilleries. They have a sound system in each car but couldn’t hear it for the passengers. Around a two hour excursion with plenty of time to enjoy your meal & companions. There is no smoking/vaping on board or on property. When you disembark you can go through their gift shop, use the bar or use the station bathroom.

Some experiences feel like an event. Others feel like a memory the moment they begin. This was both.

From the moment we arrived and checked in at the depot, there was a quiet excitement in the air, the kind that makes you slow down and be present. We made our way to the bar while waiting to board and were treated to two exceptional drinks, the RJ Punch and the Woodford Sunrise. Both were beautifully crafted, refreshing, and set the tone for what would become an unforgettable evening. Boarding began about 15 minutes before departure, and there was something nostalgic about the process, like stepping into a story that had been waiting patiently for us to arrive.

Once seated, we had the absolute pleasure of being cared for by Makenna, who was truly outstanding. She was attentive without ever being intrusive, warm without ever feeling rehearsed, and genuinely present in every interaction. She anticipated needs before we even realized them ourselves, and her kindness elevated the entire experience. Along the journey, we passed ten historic sites, each carrying its own quiet significance. While some of the mile post signs were difficult to see and a few viewpoints were brief or from the backside, it somehow added to the authenticity of the ride. It wasn’t polished or overproduced. It felt real. It felt like a peaceful hillbilly countryside ride, the kind that reminds you how beautiful simplicity can be.

One of the most unexpected highlights of the evening was meeting The Kincaid’s, a lovely couple who shared our table. Conversation flowed easily, and by the end of the ride, it felt less like sitting with strangers and more like sharing a table with old friends. There is something special about experiences that bring people together like that.

The meal itself was nothing short of extraordinary. We ordered the prime rib with baked potato and the lobster tail with asparagus, and every single bite was cooked to perfection. The portions were incredibly generous. When they say come hungry, they mean it. This is not a light meal. This is a feast. The appetizers were just as impressive, and the desserts were unforgettable. The red velvet cake cheesecake was rich, indulgent, and beautifully balanced, while the strawberry delight cake was exactly what its name promised, sweet, fresh, and absolutely sensational.

To make the evening even more special, I was surprised with a bottle of Cupcake Sweet Red wine. I am very particular about my wine, and this selection exceeded my expectations completely. It was smooth, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the meal. It felt thoughtful and intentional, which made it even more meaningful.

What truly sets this experience apart, though, is the people. Every single staff member we encountered was kind, welcoming, and genuinely happy to be part of our evening. Their warmth never felt forced. It felt sincere. As a final touch, we were gifted a complimentary bottle of their signature dressing, which was such a generous and memorable way to end the night.

This entire experience was a Valentine’s Day surprise for me, and I can honestly say I was genuinely happy and deeply impressed from beginning to end. It was more than just dinner. It was atmosphere, connection, hospitality, and care all woven together into one beautiful evening.

Five stars without hesitation. Highly recommended for anyone looking to create a memory that will linger long after the ride is over. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We enjoyed the company we had today in our table. The service was good with exception of the food. They brought the wrong lunch for me. We pre order online and got the wrong meal served. Other than that it was a fun ride! Nice weather too.

Other than my halibut being slightly dry, the entire experience was amazing and our server Sabrina was incredible! This is a very long way from home as I live in Southwest Louisiana but I will definitely be back if the Good Lord is willing.

I was disappointed with this experience. While it was unique there are things to be aware of. First the food. We had chicken and lobster ravioli. I expected more for the price. Ravioli was barely warm and I’m pretty sure it was not actually lobster. Chicken was under seasoned and cold. The starters are salad that was actually good, celery, pretzel bites and cheese. The pretzels are very hard for soft pretzels. Cheese is just nasty.
Now the ride.
Some pretty scenery after what looks like the poverty section of Bardstown. Nothing like seeing trash as you enjoy your below average food. If you aren’t beside a window you really can’t tell anything. Then the train stops. After several minutes we just kicked it in reverse and backed up. No where did we see that you just go,,stop and reverse back. We hauled butt on the way back to. We would not of booked of this was noted.
Now service.
That was excellent. Servers were on point and polite as can be. These ladies rocked it.
The show itself was lackluster. I’ve never seen a murder mystery show like it. Actors talked then you guessed who the killer was. That maybe took 30 minutes of the ride but the actors talked to 2 tables at a time and moved on. This needs to be way better
Overall a neat experience but for 330 dollars I feel it could of been way better. We came,we saw,we left.
