Ordered food for my closing manager and employee. Received the end of the pot. Nothing in this order is correct & this so called red beans & rice is ridiculous! You can tell the grease needs to be changed, my chicken is extremely extremely dark and looks very dried out. I contacted the restaurant tonight at 10:30pm on 1/16 & a female Hispanic ask for my name of the order put me on hold for 6mins & hung up on me. Definitely shows the poor professionalism of this company and why your stores shut down now.

I don’t know what they did to the recipe of the batters, but what they changed it to has barely any flavor. The wedges used to be nice and brown colored, good seasoning. Now they’re so pale, the breading doesn’t stick to the wedges, the tenders are not as juicy as before, they’re almost dry and chewy. And the chicken breading is like a light golden. Idk what happened to seasoning, but it’s honestly gone. Bring back the old recipes.

We came in at about 1pm on Saturday. The food was fresh and staff were happy. It was a little bit of a wait on the tenders but they came out piping hot and juicy. The spicy chicken was the best we have ever had. Will definitely be coming here again.

I had a really bad experience with this restaurant over a year ago when we tried to order inside and were completely ignored. After standing there without anyone acknowledging us, we eventually just left. We decided to give them another chance this year and try the drive-thru instead.
Unfortunately, it was just as disappointing. We waited over 45 minutes in the drive-thru for a simple 3-piece chicken dinner and a couple of sides. After finally getting our food, we drove down the road to park and eat. That’s when things really went downhill.
The sides came in tiny individual Styrofoam cups that literally hold maybe two tablespoons of food. For $17, the portions were shockingly small. The 3-piece chicken meal ended up being three chicken legs — no variety at all. The legs were straight out of the fryer and underdone for my preference, which made them unappetizing.
The sides were even worse — honestly worse than middle school cafeteria food. Everything tasted like it came straight out of a can with a heavy hand of extra salt dumped on top. Nothing tasted fresh.
For the price, the portions, the quality, and the long wait, this was not worth it. 10 out of 10 would not recommend. They definitely don’t have anything on Indi’s Fast Food Restaurant in downtown Lexington or Critchfield Meats fried chicken. In fact, they probably even make LFC look good.

Normally the food is great. But the last two times the taste was different. The chicken was salty. The mashed potatoes was very loose. The seasoning on the chicken plus the wedges is different. Even the coloring of the crust is different. Maybe the recieps have changed or maybe the way it’s been cook.

I buy the cornbread each time I make bean soup. Richie’s cornbread is the best I believe I have ever had. Their cornbread led me to try the fried chicken, red beans and rice, green beans, mashed potatoes and now Richie’s is the only place I buy my fried chicken and sides from. Forget KFC, Popeye’s and Churches chicken. Richie’s is the real deal.

Love this place & stays winning in my book!!! Food is always hot, fresh & tastes amazing when delivered by Uber Eats. Their cornbread is the best Ive had since my mommy who passed away in 2020. Should be a 5 star review as they have good food this is about the chicken strips I’ve never had because they don’t have them ready and when I try to call to place a order ahead of time since I only get so much time for lunch they won’t take a order over the phone which is ridiculous they just lost out on a huge order again hopefully they change this policy sooner than later or just start having strips ready to go

Update 2: I received a call from the owner after sending my contact information via email per their request. When I say that I have NEVER received the amount of care, concern, etc from an establishment in my life. Richies has a life long customer in me. Things happen and I know that. What they did to make things right made all the difference for me. Thank you for taking the time to address my concerns. We will be back again soon!

Drove down from Columbus on a whim last night since I kept seeing pictures all over my Facebook feed. They were close to closing but had everything on the menu ready to purchase. Ended up getting a 20 piece, 4 large sides with rolls and that set me back $61. Not too bad for feeding a family of 6.
The chicken was hands down one of the best I’ve had besides making it myself at home. The wedges were top-notch! The Mac and cheese desperately needed salt. The candied yams were great!
Whole family loved the food. If we’re back in the area we will definitely be stopping by again.
