With an understanding that fast food is “fast food” I wanted to share my experience today at lunch (10/1/25). I went through the drive through at the McDonalds in Shelby, NC in the mall parking lot and order a medium 2 cheeseburger meal. As I drove away I noticed that it was put in as a large combo costing $11.20. I was ok with that. When I received my order I was given a medium meal and didn’t have time to go in to the store to get it straightened out. So as I pulled away I opened one of the cheeseburger, which is pictured here. Not only was it cold, it was like a piece of cardboard/leather with a hard crispy outer edge.
When I worked in fast food we would never serve something like this. I ended up paying $11.20 for a medium tea and fries. Not sure what has happened to customer service, but I don’t feel like it exists anymore. I would hope that if you are going to charge this amount that the food would at least be edible.

Asked for extra salt on my mobile order and even reminded them at the speaker mad they gave me ABSOLUTELY NO SALT on my fries. The speaker was rude and says “you put it on the order already” in a snarky tone. Lasy time I’ll attend this McDonalds, js go to the one down the road

Started promoting the grinch meal on December 2nd, today is December 3rd.
I ordered a mobile order of 2 grinch meals tonight and guess what no socks and no grinch salt.
What was the point of promoting something you can’t keep up with or keep enough of?
Waste of money tonight, paying almost 13$ a box, not being able to use a deal, AND not receiving the items I was suppose too.
Why couldn’t “out of stock” be put on the app.

After four consecutive mess ups, I can confirm the employees here do not pay attention to order details or attempt to make the food edible in any way. Old meat beyond sit time, burgers not even put together with cheese melted the box, it’s sad.

The people running this place are pure trash and rude. The coffee machines sometimes work in the morning (it’s hit or miss) but literally every single day they suddenly don’t work around 3-4 when shift changes happen. I stopped going here for food years ago but when they laugh when you put in an order for a coffee it’s so obvious it’s “broken” bc they don’t want to do their very simple minded job. I will no longer use McDonald’s for coffee anymore and will use the seven brew or Starbucks from now on bc both shelby McDonald’s locations are trash!

April 14th update: I have to change my rating because apparently the McDonald’s corporation and or the owner is not listening.
Went for breakfast with my son this morning the menu has been shortened I walked into the store to order Define that there’s almost no staff in the store.
I also asked if the dining room was open so I could sit down with my son and enjoy a meal and was told yes but he immediately after sitting down I was told that I could not eat in the restaurant even though the doors were open. It also took forever for someone to take my order because the only thing they are apparently attending to is the drive-thru.
