This is a great local seafood spot. There aren’t many like this for sure. They have all the favorites including catfish, red snapper, shrimp, fried oysters and gumbo. Man that gumbo is Fire! It has chicken, shrimp, crab and sausage in it. Red beans and rice are great, the hush puppies are tasty. Everything is fried perfect! And they have all the good stuff for dessert too! Sweet potato puts, pecan abcs peach pie too. Family owned for over 30 years, they treat you like family too! Don’t sleep on this!

The food was delicious. I have the shrimp and fish basket and also ordered the catfish fillet and a few other sides. When I immediately walked in, I noticed the long line and the broken booth and table which you cannot sit in. And it’s been broken for a very long time now. The atmosphere is very dingy and the bathroom was extremely disgusting. There was Menstrual blood on the floor and Unsanitary tissue on the floor with blood and feces. And also there was feces in the toilet. It was very hard to flush. Someone left that behind in the bathroom is not kept up at all.
Overall, I give this place 2 I will not be coming back again. One last thing the cashier had a terrible attitude didn’t smile and didn’t have any good customer service at all.Her name was Sakia.

I was hankering for gumbo and my hopes were shot down at Kickin’ Crab down the street and ended up here. Unpretentious looking joint in the strip mall of the Stater Brothers mall. But what a gem!!! Clean, open dining area with wax paper covered tables like you might find at a roadside seafood joint in Maine. Counter ordered a cup of gumbo for $8 with a short wait before receiving it. Gumbo was one of the best I’ve ever tasted! Served in a paper bowl (I asked for it to go) and it was 2 cups of golden joy. Large chunks of spicy sausage and 4 jumbo shrimp. I only ate half there and enjoyed the rest the next day at home. I was very surprised, and pleased, to find this little place and I will definitely return and try some of their other menu items. Just goes to show, the little Mom & Pop joints can challenge the bigger guys.

Food was served hot and fresh , I was pleased with the food but the shrimp wasn’t cleaned and that definitely threw me off (see pic) this reminds me of a whole in a wall type of spot definitely needs some updated and deep cleaning (see photos) I was not a fan of the cobbler way too much cinnamon. I would eat here again no shrimp just fish and fries but it would have to be take out someone would have to bring the food to me definitely not a place I want to sit inside at hate to see the bathroom if there is one and the guy at the front desk wasn’t very pleasant honey I’m here to spend my money not take yours be a little more friendly

Ok as a kid it was good. As am adult they need to rehire. Now I’m a tone sets your tone kind of person. But when I tell you these babies hate they job. Oh they hate they job. Attitude go crazy. For no reason I could see.
I called in my order before work, grab to go take a bite its the wrong fish. Idk how. Cat and red don’t sound they same. This was my second attempt this year because I couldn’t make it to my regular place.
Also a month or so before I gave up shrimp because they gave me unclean shrimp. Now I can’t even look at a shrimp because what??
And the worst offense of all was my shrimp was unseasoned. I could’ve gotten over the multiple bad attitudes, the wrong fish, the fact that asking for sauces feels like a crime. But unseasoned fish. I just can’t.
I hope they reimagine and get it together. Because the lines used to go crazy. The service used to be friendly. Now IDK. But I won’t detour again.

Sometimes the hole in the wall restaurants pleasantly surprise you! I had the red snapper combo with shrimp, hush puppies and fries. The fries were great and salted to perfection. The shrimp and fish had great flavor and a precise crisp. The hush puppies had a kick to it. I’d like to note, the tartar sauce was literally the best I’ve ever had. Over all, because the food was so good, everything else that went lacking became irrelevant. I recommend this place if you like soul food!

I came out to watch a soccer game today. It’s cold and rainy so I asked Google for gumbo nearby. I landed here and had to pace myself. The gumbo is delicious. I also ordered a 2-piece catfish lunch. And I got a flashback to my childhood with the Stage Plank cookies. I’m a happy camper.
