I happened upon this place during a visit to the area on 1.18.26. I called in my order, gave them over 30 minutes, arrived and had to give them 30 more minutes. However, the place was packed upon my arrival. It took almost 5 minutes to be acknowledged as I stood at the counter while the servers buzzed around. I should have been easily recognizable…. Iykyk ! Someone did apologize for my wait though.

The portion was huge. The food was great and well worth the price!

I had been reading good things about their homemade noodles and the developed flavors as well as affordability and great tastes. Everything was right, the chicken and broccoli is great, noodle soup has awesome broth and chicken was amazing and the Philly egg roll was pretty good and the gyoza was pretty good as well. Definitely worth a shot.

we saw a good reviewer try this place and we really wanted to try this place out! we came in during lunch on a saturday and it was packed but we were able to get a seat within 5ish minutes. the restaurant gives homey local chinese mom and pop shop. the restaurant was quite warm in there as well. perhaps the a/c wasn’t working but it wasn’t unbearable.

we ordered the xiao long bao for appetizer and they were delicious! the flavor was great. there was a good amount of broth but not as much as i’d like.

for mains i got the 3 meat platter with roasted duck, grilled short rib, and pork knuckle. the beef was grilled perfectly and had a good marinade. it was super juicy and flavorful. the pork knuckle was fatty and gelatinous in a good way. and the roasted duck was the best part! super tender and juicy meat with that fatty and crispy skin. my wife got the mongolian beef and she enjoyed it as well. tender beef in a garlicky sauce.

and for dessert we got the matcha cheesecake. it was good but didn’t have that strong matcha flavor i’d like but still tasty.

overall, we enjoyed our meal and thought everything was great. we’d definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

The Mongolian beef was AMAZING! Everything was delicious but the main dish stole the show. Ate inside and ordered lunch. We were able to split the entree and had the perfect amount for the afternoon. Atmosphere is a 4 because of the noise level. A little too loud and I live the boy mom life lol.

FINALLY! A GOOD RESTAURANT IN THIS AREA!

This is the only place here in the FWB area that serves authentic Chinese flavors. This restaurant has no competition, especially for Chinese food.

Also finally, a place that makes authentic milk teas and not instant powder crap!

I have some critiques for some of the food items but I’m soooo happy with this place that it still deserves 5*s! Be mindful that my scoring might seem biased but the other restaurants here are at best mid, if not bad. In other words, the other restaurants here are overrated, this is the first restaurant in this area that I can ACTUALLY say is good and NOT because I have to lower my standards. (I am from California, I’ve lived in Asia and Europe, I’m a massive foodie. To say the least, I know my food.)

The goods:
My husband got the Chong Qing Style Hot & Spicy Chicken and it was incredible! The texture, the flavor, even the aromatics were perfection. One small disappointment I have is the lack of Sichuan peppers, but I get that’s hard to find so they get a pass since it was still VERY DELICIOUS. 10/10

I got the Roast Duck Noodle Soup. I don’t know if the noodles are hand pulled, but they’re so good that I wouldn’t be surprised if it is, definitely impressive if it isn’t. The broth was amazing, absolutely no other words for it. Sipping on it was like healing my soul. I was not a fan of the roast duck though, could use some more flavor it was also a little chewy and tough to eat. I would probably choose a different topping cause I think the broth is always the same. 9/10 (because of the duck)

My husband got the Passionfruit tea with Strawberry popping boba and I got the Roasted Oolong Milk tea with the Cream Cap(or as we call it in CA, cheese foam) topping and tapioca.

The fruit tea was incredibly fragrant, I’m 95% sure they used a jasmine tea as the base. This is my first time tasting a fruit tea with jasmine base and it’s such a genius move.

The milk tea could’ve used more sweetener. I’m not a fan of overly sweet drinks(I’m Asian, “it’s not too sweet” is our favorite compliment), but a bit more sugar would’ve been nice since they use actual tea. (At least I believe they do, it tastes like actual tea and not powdered stuff)

The tapioca pearls were fresh and soft, not chewy and clumpy. However, I wish they cooked it in brown sugar.

I’m really glad I got the cream cap because I haven’t had it since the last time I was in California and it made me so happy. Cream Cap might be odd to someone who has never had boba before cause it’s creamy and slightly salty, but for a Californian like me, it’s amazing.

All in all, the teas get 10/10.

The bads:
I got the shumai. Dim sum is one of my favorites, so I was quite disappointed by this. It looked sad to me the moment it hit the table, but the disappointment didn’t end there. The filling was weird. There we’re chunks of shrimp, but the rest had the texture of mush. I later asked Katy, our waitress what the filling was and she said that it was crab, fish and shrimp. First, I was surprised when she said crab. I have never heard of crab being used as a filling for shumai before. But I think the texture could’ve been better if they minced the shrimp and emulsified the filling better. Or just switch to a pork/shrimp shumai altogether. The wrapper was nice though. I think it’s similar to a Ha Gao wrapper. 3/10

We also got the steamed pork dumplings, it wasn’t bad but could’ve used just a little bit more salt to really bring out the flavors. Good flavors, just dull because of the last of salt. 7/10

The dim sum dishes came with a sauce that I personally didn’t like. The sauce was very sweet and vinegary too me. But to each their own. I preferred the soy sauce that was available on the table. 5/10

Now, I can only hope that this restaurant improves on its short falls but maintain the things that they do amazing at.

I’m really SO HAPPY that this place is here. We deserve to finally have good food.

Chicken fried rice. Chicken was a little dry but omg in general it was so good I loved it overall. Plus I’ve tried their bubble tea and duck soup before and it was awesome! I hope they keep the quality through the months coming
