I went to Uncle Dave’s a few years ago and was so much less than impressed.
However, I recently returned for a fantastic dining experience.
I tried to update my previous review, but I am not that “Google Savy” yet, I guess I get a bad review for that.
Getting back on topic, arriving at Uncle Daves I was given a warm greeting by two very nice waitstaff.
The restaurant was quite large, split into two sections, divided in the center by an island that had a counter service and where the coffee pots etc. are. Atmosphere was clean and organized, and attempt by a golf enthusiast was the theme of the decor.
There was an old-time hometown feel as locals were greeted by name and inquiries about family members were overheard more than once. Veterans wearing their military ball caps expressed their opinions about politics, gas prices and taxes.
The vibe was friendly and very Mayberryish and this made me want to linger in my booth a good long time just to soak up the comfort of the feel of the community that surrounded me and that I miss in this plastic rush rush world.
Coffee was served up quickly and it was good quality coffee. I am an EXTREME Coffee Snob, sad to admit that but that is my albatross to carry.
The menu is extensive, and I deliberated on my choice for a good long time. Not surprisingly, biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage links was the selection. I asked the waitress what her recommendation was with sausages and she recommended the links. Spoiler alert, no regrets whatsoever.
So happy I ordered this – So sad I ate it all. Admittedly I don’t eat a lot at one sitting but I graze throughout the day. I lost self-control with the gi-normous (aka really big, giant + enormous) flakey biscuits and savory sausage gravy supplemented by the exceptional sausage links. Refills on the coffee were plentiful, and I did not hesitate. I did not walk away hungry.
It was a wonderful experience, and I sincerely appreciate the waitstaff and all the back of the store support.
When I need to walk back in time and find good atmosphere, friendly service, a very good meal and a fair price I know where I will be, at Uncle Dave’s

Haven’t been back here in over 12 years and I can assure you the potatoes and gravy are just as good as the last time I came. Uncle Dave’s will always be one of my stops for my visits to Port orchard.

Everyone had an enjoyable time eating here. We had a table of 9 so we called ahead and got a reservation which made things easy for seating. This place does get very busy.

The chicken fried steak was good. The chicken fried steak burrito was also good. You will need to season your food with some salt and pepper for sure. The family and I would return here again. Thank you.

I went to have breakfast before an appointment and I was by myself. Don’t usually eat alone. Three other people came in at the same time as me by themselves. The waitress did a great job helping everybody was extremely attentive would come over the minute you thought about needing help she was there. I was so impressed with her and that I gave her a 40% tip. Also the food was great I had the biscuits and gravy with potatoes. Can’t be missed the biscuits are amazing and so was the gravy. I highly recommend. A regular that was there told me I had to try chicken fried steak with gravy. I guess I’m coming back.

I was looking for a quiet place to eat a late breakfast while alone and visiting from out of state. This was perfect. My food was the perfect temperature and very fresh, I always had hot coffee in my mug, and I was checked on by the server just the right amount of times (I never waited and I didn’t feel interrupted.)
TL;DR Go! Food good. Service good. Prices reasonable.

I had the club sandwich on sourdough with fries. The portions and price were perfect, and the food tasted great. Service was quick, friendly, and accurate. A while back I came in for their biscuits and gravy during their morning rush. Despite how many people were there the food was fixed in a timely manner and I was not disappointed in the taste and portion size. This is a great neighborhood cafe that strives to encourage repeat business.

So I use to love the bisquets and gravy. It was a treat but after my last visit, I won’t be wasting my money. It use to be amazing and has really gone down hill food wise my gravy was runny and had pink sausage gross never and that’s sad because I use to love it.

This is a hard review because I usually rave about Uncle Dave’s because it is a great place that is well lit and the servers are usually on point with a fast kitchen. That being said,

Son and I arrived at 7:40 to a busy atmosphere and only one server. We had time before school so a little wait was not a problem. We were seated quickly and the server was fast to get our drink order. Within 10 minutes we had our meals placed, and a large group of 8 people were seated next to us.

After 40 minutes our food did not come out and all the people at the large table had food and were content. We had been at our spot for long enough our server asked if we were ready for the check to which I replied “we’d like to eat first”

It turned out the server and kitchen prioritized the larger group and had forgotten about our order. The server stated mistakes happen, which i could forgive if she had stopped by the table one time after taking our meal order to check on us and refill our drinks. I think this could have all been avoided with some normal check-ins at the table. Frustratingly i did not catch the issue until it was too late. I will say that not once did the servers ask how we were doing and focused on the larger table as the servers were constantly moving past us, so it wasn’t a lack of visibility.

Once the issue was identified we were out of time to eat and had to get my son to school. The server scrambled to make some toast and a pancake for my son, which was not what he ordered, and I informed them we would not be paying for the random pancake and toast.

Did not get to rate the food, because it never arrived.

Old-school local diner vibes, like the kind your dad took you to as a kid sorta feel. Really good food, pretty good pricing especially in this economy. They always make sure my order is right, and pretty much everything we’ve tried here has been really good. The breakfast burrito is MASSIVE and really good, their pies are pretty good too. I’ll definitely be coming back – already been several times. I wish they stayed open a little later, but that’s my only (and very minor) complaint.

Okay so, I’m a huge fan of small diners like this one. But when we got there, it was like they didn’t bother to seat us. Than moved around the room to find a place which they did and than decided to wait 15 minutes to give us coffee and than another 30 to take the order and than another 30 to give us the food. Meanwhile, no refills on drinks. And on Veterans Day it was free coffee. Yet we still paid for it. Their food was not as nice as I expected but for a diner I guess that is what is expected. All I know I won’t be going back
