Long time favorite for downtown Mexican food. Taco and more. Local Gator Tacos. Go Gators. Good food for good reasonable prices. Burrito Wednesday only 7 bucks.

This place was an unexpected surprise. Stopped for dinner in while in the area and the food was really good. We started with chips and salsa, the salsa was very tasty and chips were fresh. I had the Fish Bowl with blackened tilapia, and it was wonderful. The fish was perfectly seasoned with a little kick and perfectly cooked. My husband had the Chicken Bowl and it to was great. The chicken was nicely seasoned and my husband loved it. Would certainly return if we are ever in the area again.

It was a great place for lunch with our son! We ordered the Gator appetizer, beef chimichanga, chicken enchiladas with green sauce and birria quesadilla, and jackfruit soft taco. We shared and tried each other’s meals. The Gator appetizer was great!! Truthfully everything was. Number 1 for flavor was the chimichanga – cheesy and crunchy! The tomatillo sauce perfectly complimented the enchilada. I loved the smoky scent and taste of the jackfruit taco as it contrasted nicely with the pineapple slaw, but it was a bit spicy. A the special touch with the quesadilla, besides the tender beef was that it was roasted – and fried (or so it seemed). It was a very tasty lunch and a different perspective on Mexican cuisine in a charming part of Gainesville.

We frequent Boca Fiesta quite often. The last visit, the guac tasted so bad. The avocado had clearly been sitting out for hours. The entrees were not great either. I remember it being far better. And lastly for service, nobody will wait on you, you have to flag them down for each request you have.

This is a cute little place. We were excited to go here. We both ordered bowls which were supposed to be meat, cheese, lettuce, rice, and beans. What we received was A bowl of mushy rice, black beans, and globs of refried beans with four leaves of cilantro and a little pico de gallo. Mine was supposed to be chorizo and I think there was a flavor maybe? Every time I thought I was gonna get a bite Ofallon chorizo, it ended up being refried beans. My husband found- he counted eight pea size pieces of Carne Asada in his. There is no lettuce, no salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or anything. Just basically rice with black beans and good of refried beans. His Carne Asada bowl was $13.50 and my chorizo bowl was $10.50 A very strange experience! I’m not sure what the pictures attached and review reviews are from.

The make-your-own guacamole is bad; they only provide avocado, minced garlic, salt and pepper. Tacos are quite tasty. I recommend fish tacos and gator tacos.
Also, I enjoy the atmosphere in this restaurant.

The fish tacos are out of this world!!
So we were visiting Gainesville the weekend that UF had it’s graduation weekend, and all restaurants were super packed including this one. The wait time was 2 hours. But they had enough space for us to be seated at the bar in the back and then get take out (which was ~20 mins). The Moscow mule was pretty good (for just $5) and the tacos were yummy. Shrimp and steak tacos were good, but the fish taco was just freaking amazing!

This is my first time trying their food, so, i hope they have better days. The restaurant was empty when we came in and by the time we left there was only a couple at the bar. My partner and i each got a plate of food (steak burrito & beef enchiladas) Unfortunately it took 25 minutes for the enchiladas to come out cold and took another 20 minutes for them to remake it so we had to take it to go, as to not exceed our parking time. And the steak in my burrito tasted like it was from a school cafeteria the rice also tasted like a cheap pre made packets. did provide a discount for the enchiladas, but still very disappointing I heard such good things about them and their food.
