The service was great and the atmosphere was very nice and inviting. The wine was ok, but the food was really disappointing. The Madeira and short ribs were very bland. The meat was cooked well, but lacked flavor. The baked goat cheese was pretty good but it wasn’t worth the price.

The service and atmosphere was great. Really cool place inside. All of our appetizers were very good too and we enjoyed the bread they bring to the table. The pastas we ordered were a little disappointing. We weren’t crazy about any of them and the noodles for one of them was a hollow spaghetti noodles which we didn’t like. Just a personal preference. I will say the portions were decent and we got to choose a 2nd pasta to bring home with every order pasta which was awesome. Overall it was a good experience but we probably won’t be back.

The atmosphere and staff were both great, which made for a welcoming experience. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the Eggplant Parmesan. It resembled more of an eggplant lasagna than the classic dish. While the sauce itself was delicious—perfectly balanced between tangy and sweet—the eggplant ended up compressed and soggy rather than the crispy breaded slices I expected.
The portion size was very generous and could easily feed two people. My suggestion would be to elevate the dish by serving crispy breaded eggplant over a bed of noodles, topped with that great sauce and melted cheese. I don’t know many people who enjoy breaded eggplant turned into a dense heap.
If you’re looking for a massive serving of okay food, this dish might be for you. That said, other items on the menu (like the crab cakes and goat cheese appetizer) looked very appealing, so it’s possible I just ordered the wrong thing.
Since I was only passing through the area, I probably wouldn’t stop by again, but I did hear other diners mention they had come based on really good reviews.

Took 7 people to try this restaurant out for a Birthday. Five of the 7 dishes were fine. Two weren’t worth the money. Short rib dinner did not contain but 3 forks of meat. Topaz in Burr Ridge provides excellent food with actually a good serving size even of protein. I will attach photos of both to compare. The Madeira that I had only had micro amounts of meat, the sauce was not to quality standards. It should be a translucent dark brown thick sauce with lots of flavor. Instead it was watered down and had cream in it. A let down to say the least. The chicken florentine is amazing. The dilled salmon was perfect. The chicken Vesuvio was good. Again the sauce could be better. The vodka ravioli sauce was good. Lasagna was ok. The Italian wedding soup was perfect. For the price you could have gone to Topaz in Burr Ridge or Gordan Ramsey in Naperville and had much bigger portions of food. Second photo is Topaz in Burr Ridge. GOAT and Vine does load the plates with potatoes. The main entry is chucky potatoes. The first two photos show it all. Photos number 8 and 9 are my cooking and plating. Photos 10-20 are Gordon Ramsey Restaurant in Naperville.
