I liked the soft brioche bun after the first few bites. I thought it was steamed, but it got rubbery towards the end which suggests that it may have been microwaved.
Their special sauce of mayo, mustard, and relish was a unique addition to the bottom of the burger.
The sack of fries for $4.99 is large enough to share. The fries were fresh crinkle cut, but they tasted like frozen fries that came out of a food service bag. I would have expected hand cut fries from a classic hamburger place..
The signs say they have been open since 1948. I am sure many of the people who come to HH return for the sentimental value as they have been open nearly 80 years. Sometime since then they began taking the shortcut, preparing burgers from a box and fries from the freezer.
If you are coming here for the first time, you should go to a local bar or someplace that makes handmade burgers. Even Culver’s up the street would be a better value than the almost $20 that I paid for a Costco-quality burger and fries.
As I write this review in the parking lot, I saw three or four groups of people return to their vehicles with ice cream or milkshakes. Maybe this is a dessert place that also sells burgers. I will try a shake next time!
Gurl bye. This food took me straight to the pits of hell.
This was overpriced and mediocre. I got the Big cheeseburger with bacon, and a root beer to drink. I was a little shocked that my root beer came without ice and was flat as all get out. Burger Heaven has the unmitigated gall to hype this root beer up.
My Bf ordered a Hamburger with a coke and his drink was flat also. I am not sure why they serve warm drinks without ice.
You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. I was so excited for this place. 15 bucks for a flat soda and school cafeteria tasting burger is crazy work. The only real flavor the burger had was from the ketchup.
I passed up Portillo’s for this mess.
They should’ve paid me to eat this. No one in my group cared for their burger.
Never again.
A taste of old-school, simply grand.
A window’s call, a paper sack,
With flavors strong, no taste they lack.
The burgers, seasoned, bold, and bright,
With toppings crisp—a perfect bite.
The fries, so golden, crisp, and light,
A side that truly brings delight.
No bargain bites, but fair, well-priced,
For quality, it’s worth the slice.
A busy corner, cars rush past,
Yet here, the moments seem to last.
No fear, no fuss, just food done right,
A roadside gem, a classic sight.
I also love that I recognize the cook—it adds a personal touch and gives me confidence that my food will be cooked to perfection every time. The staff is always kind, smiling, and welcoming, which makes each visit even better.
Thanks for making every meal memorable and delicious!
Is it over priced? Yes and no.
Most stands have hot dogs and fries for $5.
Hamburger heaven? $5 plus tax each.
Got a Chicago dog and since fries are extra I got breaded mushrooms. The dig was good. The breaded mushrooms wee hot and got 12 breaded shrooms in my order. Ranch dressing bag was .50¢ extra. No cup for ranch? Oh well. Had to eat in the parking lot. I didn’t want to chance getting a giant ranch packet everywhere.
Was it good?
Yes.
Was it fresh? Yes!
Is it a must stop for eating on the go? No.
If I’m in the area I might stop again.
2:00pm on a weekday not busy.
Love the old school look!
Delicious burger. And like you see it’s huge
But not just big it’s delicious
I will recommend you guys home made root beer they have
I want it more just now
