I tried the big muddy, killer sandwich!! The brisket is as good as any could definitely eat a whole plate of that. Was not a fan of the potato salad, it’s kinda pickle-forward, however they were kind enough to replace it with the spinach casserole for me, which was great! Good sodas as well.

I got the 3 meat combo plate w mac and cheese and crispy brussel sprouts. For the meats, I would rank them as brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage and then pulled pork.
They also have complimentary bread, onions, pickles and jalapeños.
Can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes.

Brisket was tender and delicious but such a tiny portion. Same with smoked salmon. Ribs were awesome fall off the bone with a lot of meat. Mac and cheese was good. Coleslaw fresh and crisp but could use more vinegar. Overall good but pricey for a small amount of meat.

The meat choices (brisket and pulled pork) were fantastic melt in your mouth delicious… The sides left me wanting better. Baked beans were okay but had a weird texture. The au gratin potatoes were dry and bland. The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted like they came from a can. The sauce selections redeemed them. They have a fantastic honey bbq flavor. Even the odd ball white bq sauce (horse radish) was flipping delicious. The sauce is on the side so you can add however much or little you like so if you don’t like your brisket drowned in sauce (me) then you can make it just how you want it. While this is a dine in facility there’s no waitresses and the cash register still asks for a tip which is off putting… All in all I would come here again.

Pretty good meats but the sides are really lacking. The bark on the ribs and brisket was very nice and seasoned and smoked great. They have a nice selection of sauces. The big cookie was also VERY tasty. The sides of green beans were way over seasoned and the deviled egg potato salad was bland and mushy. They specialty sandwiches look very appealing and I will be ordering one of those next time. They were out of the daily special by the time I got there. This might not be the best bbq in town but you can definitely find something good here.

Food was good. Not exceptional like we were recommended, but better than just ok.

Sugarfire was great!
I ordered too much food but no regrets!
The beans were great, the cheesy corn was different but good and meats were amazing.
Tried all the sauces and couldnt pick one, found a couple that I kept switching back and forth.
Staff was friendly, place was clean and clean bathrooms.
I recommend giving them a shot and I would go back again.

The food is pretty good. Got a sample of pulled pork, brisket, the sausage, ribs, and turkey. Really liked the turkey and the pulled pork was juicy. The ribs and brisket were a bit dry for my taste, and since things are prepared and stored in batches and a serve in line sort of style, the meat wasnt as warm as I’d like it to be, but the flavor was mostly on point.
The sides were delicious! Really loved the spinach and potatoes casseroles. They also have a lot of sauces for the meat to try and condiments, and some white bread and pickles you can serve yourself when you dine in. To go boxes are resllt weird design with holes in both the top and bottom, though.
Don’t love how you have to order. The sign/menu is before the ordering area, so you have to decide everything ahead of when you actually get to the front. So if there’s a line you dont have a board with the menu or prices readily available to double check and get the names and amounts of everything right if you have a lot of things you’re ordering for a family/group. It’s not a huge issue but a little odd.
Overall, it’s a pretty nice spot to stop for BBQ if you don’t want to make it at home. Lot of variety!

We’ve heard over the years how great Sugarfire BBQ was and wanted to try it. To say it was a big disappointment would be putting it nicely. The best part about the meal was the corn bread and it was overdone on the bottom. We tried every sauce on the table and none of them were good…they all had a weird aftertaste and did not improve the brisket or the pulled pork. The French fries were okay but greasy. The Au Gratin potatoes had very little flavor and the slaw was blah. The fountain soda offered was good and the staff were very friendly. We’ll stick with Doc’s in Edwardsville or Fire-N-Smoke.

Heard about Sugarfire from a friend. We were on the way back home and stopped in. Ordered a combo plate with brisket and pulled pork with 2 sides. I ordered the pit beans and au gratin potatoes. Also ordered fries. Brisket was amazing. Pulled pork was good but a tad dry. The portion sizes for meats were small and portion sizes for sides were quite large. The potatoes were really good and the beans were amazing as were the fries. They had a good variety of sauces as well and they were good. It was pretty warm in the restaurant almost, but not quite, uncomfortable. The staff was good. Overall, a good BBQ joint. I would definitely recommend.
