This was our third time dining at BCN, and as always, the entire experience was magnificent. From the maître d’ and hostess to the waitstaff, the service was impeccable—professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
BCN is a Michelin one-star restaurant, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Houston who enjoys traditional Spanish cuisine with a refined, modern fusion twist. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, featuring authentic Picasso and Dalí sculptures and artwork, along with an excellent selection of wines and spirits.
We enjoyed two of their house gin and tonics, which were fantastic, as well as two bottles of wine that were honestly outstanding.
As for the food, everything was exceptional. We started with the octopus appetizer, which was sublime—perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. We also had the potato and quail egg foam with butter and black truffles, which was elegant and delicious. The duck breast was cooked beautifully and packed with flavor, and the fideuà, their seafood pasta dish, was outstanding—rich, balanced, and expertly executed. As always, the seafood at BCN truly shines. In addition, the chef sent out a small spoon appetizer (the name escapes me), and it was absolutely fantastic.
Overall, BCN Taste & Tradition is a must-visit in Houston if you’re looking for Michelin-star dining and genuinely appreciate Spanish and Latin-inspired cuisine. Reservations are required, prices are excellent for the level of quality, and the experience is consistently top-tier.
Highly recommended for any serious foodie visiting Houston.
We did the special tasting menu, which let us try small portions of several different plates—every course was outstanding. The wine pairing was phenomenal and truly elevated the meal. What made it even better was the service: they took the time to walk us through each plate, explain what we were tasting, and share the origins and story behind each wine.
Shout-out to Alfredo, Carlos, and Guillermo—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made the night feel special.
10/10. Highly recommend.
For food, we loved the jamón, arroz negro, and the suckling pig. Everything was beautifully cooked and full of flavor. We’ll definitely be back.
We ordered the Spanish Ibérico ham croquettes, Spanish octopus, Bomba rice, roasted fideo pasta, and the suckling Ibérico pig. Every dish was delicious — rich in flavor yet surprisingly light and not greasy at all.
The only exception was the suckling Ibérico pig, which had a slight gamey taste. I am very sensitive to that kind of flavor, so others may not notice it.
The ambience was elegant and comfortable, and the service was warm and welcoming. Overall, a wonderful brunch experience and definitely worth visiting.
The suckling pig was absolutely delicious.
The filo dough desert was delicious and light.
Everything on the menu did in fact have a Spanish inspiration or origination and all have very unique flavor profiles.
My only complaint would be around portion size of the food while I understand this is fine dining. I do think the entrée-portions and cocktails were slightly undersized.
That said, I recommend and would return.
Regarding food, most everything was very good with my only possible complaint being that some dishes were on the heavy side. Portion sizes were also unexpected large for Michelin restaurants, though I’m not complaining.
The Gin & Tonic, cradled in a grand balloon glass, was a fragrant epiphany; an ethereal blend so smooth it felt like a long-awaited dream realized. To conclude, the Gypsy’s Arm arrived as a poetic final act, with ‘Happy Birthday’ elegantly scripted upon the plate, a touch of grace that transformed a dinner into a cherished memory.
What a symphony of Spanish elegance. I left with a satisfied palate and a lingering sense of wonder.
