Many birrieria places in SD but this place is extraordinary. Beware, salsas are hot. I recommend a three taco setup w beef consome so you can try the meats. So carnitas, goat & beef in homemade corn tortillas. The cafe de olla is light & delicious. They provide limes, salsa & cilantro & onions too. So tasty & plentiful. If you want to dive into a huge portion of q type of meat, the the Carnitas plate, goat Tatemada or beef Campechano will satisfy your needs.

Awesome authentic menudo and birria stew. Birria stew made with goat was so flavorful and every spice came through and full of meat. The menudo was earthy with subtle notes of spices. The hominy added a much needed texture. Adding onions and cilantro with a squeeze of lime put everything together. Very friendly staff and fast service. A must try if your in the area.

This place is definitely the most authentic birreria you’ll find! They actually make the birria with goat meat! They do also offer a beef birria option. Plus, they have the best carnitas I’ve ever had so full of flavor. We tried all the sides, rice, beans, guacamole the salsas, but the ultimate must have are the handmade corn tortillas!!! Just the tortillas with freshly made guacamole is enough to fall in love with this place!!Everything was so full of the most amazing authentic Mexican flavors. It doesn’t get any better. The service is so friendly and welcoming. Some waiters of course friendlier than others. But it’s all good. The only downfall of this place is it’s kind of small and the wait can be a while. The wait is worth it though!!

Went Memorial Day around 2pm. No lines or wait, but parking was full, so not sure where people park when this place is packed. Thankfully, someone was leaving when we pulled in, so just a short wait. We had planned to order some birria and menudo to go and eat when we got home from our trip, but it smelled so good inside, we dieciséis to try a few items before we hit the road.
Service was excellent. Even though we kept changing out mind about ordering to go, eating there, then kept ordering items one by one as we discovered more and more of the new items on their menu.
First we ordered taco de birria, carnitas, buche and a consommé to start. Then we saw they had flautas which are made with carnitas and also have chicharrón on top!! Comes with consommé, so they offered to cancel the the first order for us. Then we saw the tuétano (bone marrow) which comes with a side of beef birria and both were outstanding!! Probably the best dish overall. We still ordered some birria de chivo and menudo to go for family and home, which we enjoyed for a few days. Everything was really good and service top notch. So happy we stopped by and will be a regular stop on our trips to SD. Bonus: down the street from the famous Tacos Los Gordos, so easy to try a bit of both if you’re from out of town!
Pro tip: look at the new items noted across the walls for the full menu before you order. Not everything is listed on the menu at the table!

Best authentic Mexican food place I have had in a long time. I cook authentic Mexican food and I’m very picky when we eat out. The pozole, tacos dorados, and Birria were all amazingly delicious! Oh and the Cafe De Olla was so delicious Thank you for having us!

Please don’t expect to find any vegetarian or vegan options here.
We were there before they opened. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They’re on top of refills and checking on the tables to make sure clients are enjoying themselves.
The food is hot and delicious. It’s not salty, greasy, and it doesn’t have excessive spices. It’s just right. The tortillas are hand made fresh.
The place is clean and they offer indoor as well as outdoor seating.
I had the beef birria campechana and a jericalla for dessert. Totally would recommend.
I don’t usually have dessert, but it’s my favorite!

We went to an amazing restaurant tonight just down from the Hotel. Wowsers!!
The owner Martin, and his two off-siders Martin and Oscar could not have been more welcoming. Martin #1 kept bringing out countless complementary plates to showcase their rustic Guardalajaran dishes and explaining how each dish was made as well as letting us know how to make Tequila.
We came home with a large takeaway bag of dishes for us to try tomorrow. Martin even wanted to invite us to Sunday breakfast which is apparently a special gathering. Unfortunately we will have left by then.

This is our spot for Birria de chivo tatemada. GOAT meat soup, they give a consome ( hot broth) on the side, the meat is cooked and serve on a separate plate its a little toasted. Plus (tatemada), home-made corn tortillas we had quesadillas on the side everything is so delicious you won’t regret it. If you go after 4pm they have a different menu we didn’t know but at this time they have Pozole, roll tacos , crunchy tacos and many other items definitely wants you to go for morning menu and come come back for the dinner menu. Fair prices. Family atmosphere, staff is very attentive and the place is very clean.
