I took advantage of seeing the ad on tv for the shrimp bayou bowl. From the Big Easy menu. It did not disappoint. I consumed everything in the bowl minus the dipping sauce. If things are done right with the shrimp and sausage, why hide the flavor with cheesy sauce? The rice, cooked perfectly, garlic green beans surprisingly delicious, sautéed peppers and onion were the perfect accompaniment to the shrimp and Andouille sausage. Topped off with a mich Ultra Brewtus, and you have one happy diner.

I came in at around 9 tonight. I stood waiting to be seated long enough I was getting ready to leave when finally a server came from the back. During this time I’m standing there, the bartender looked straight through me, and the server on the floor completely ignored me. The server who sat me was rude, and the one that took my order was pleasant enough but only stopped by when food was being delivered. Yes, I understand nine at night is late, and they could just be tired. But as I sat and finally got my food, other tables came in and both women that ignored me greeted these people with a smile. Then the server I had vacuumed right at my table while I was eating. I am typically a generous tipper, but not tonight.

We had lunch after church this past Sunday. We got the 2 for $25 special. The food was pretty good but what made our experience memorable was our server Erica. She told us it was only her 4th shift on her own and she’d never waited tables before. I was in the restaurant industry for many years and have a very critical eye when it comes to service. And I have to say, you’d never know it. She was confident, knowledgeable, and on the ball. She made us feel very welcome. I never had to ask for drinks. She kept us informed about the status of our meal. Anticipated needs, checked back without being pushy. She kept our table clean. I made sure to tell the manager Justin what a fantastic job she did. I was also very impressed with Justin.

Service, we got our food so that’s a plus right? It was so cold we were shivering. The food – the best thing I can say about that is eat across the street at Fazoli’s or Olive Garden.

Dirty silverware.The quality of the food was not good. Box mac and cheese, cheap chicken tenders, greasy fries. Slow kitchen service. Used to be awesome food but it was really bad. Do you not bread your tenders fresh? They tasted like frozen from a bag. Very disappointing. I have heard lots of people say the same.

Update: chicken wonton tacos were good. Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp was great! Miller Lite was cold, of course! I still enjoy this place.
I always enjoy Applebee’s! There have been times when they struggled with service but not today. Sat at the bar and had a cold Miller Light draft with my Bourbon Street steak. It was cooked perfectly!
