We decided to have breakfast here during a visit to Elgin and are so happy we did! The food was delicious, the staff was exceptional, and the restaurant was clean yet busy. The owner was visiting tables and interacting with customers, which I love because it means they take pride in happy customers. The staff was laughing and chatting with everyone, even the cooks were always smiling. It feels like a place where employees love to work and customers love to visit. The food was great with large portions so come with an appetite or bring some home for later. Will 100% come back next time we’re in the area!

Im from out of town but this breakfast spot is insanely amazing. We ordered the chorizo skillet and the old country style omelette and both tasted great. The service was very good too. The busser was very friendly always topping off our coffee, and the waitress was always checking up on us. The energy in the restaurant was full of life and left us leaving in a great mood. Can’t wait to come back to this place!

I ordered the skirt steak skillet. First of all the coffee is great, the service is great and the place is very clean and cozy. But the actual skillet. The hash browns were flavorless, no seasoning, nothing, tasted like undercooked potatoes. The steak was just ok, and it only took 5 minutes to be brought. It came with French toast , which I always take plain, no toppings and no syrup to taste the quality of them, and let me tell you… they custard only taste like eggs, no sweetness, or cinnamon or vanilla or anything. Over all, not very happy with the food.

My family and I have been regulars here for years — my husband since he was a child. Unfortunately, our visit today was very upsetting.
While dining in and still enjoying our breakfast, our server unexpectedly brought us the check without us requesting it. We were both confused, as we hadn’t indicated we were finished and actually planned to order more bacon. The server placed the bill on our table without asking if we needed anything else or offering to-go boxes, which made the interaction feel abrupt and dismissive.
What made it even more uncomfortable was sitting there for another 20 minutes finishing our meal, watching other WHITE customers around us being treated differently, they were allowed to request their checks when they finish their meals & they were ready.
Usually, our experiences here have always been pleasant, and the staff kind and welcoming. But today’s encounter felt like a subtle microaggression, and it left us feeling disheartened. We truly hope this isn’t reflective of the values of this establishment, but after today, we’re unsure if we’ll return.
