I love this place. Perfect for a rainy/snowy day when you want some delicious and huge portions of hot Korean food.
As someone who doesn’t like tofu, I think the kimchi jjigae broth is actually wonderfully flavored even if it’s not something I order. I love love love the bento boxes! I always get beef and it’s enough for 2 full servings. This place does zucchini kimchi instead of cucumbers and it’s still super crunchy.
Always happy to come to this location. Service is 10/10 and it’s so nice to see how much people love this place as a meetup/lunch spot with their friends and family. Always popular for lunch.
And idk if it’s just me but their barley tea is so good and I would love to have it running through my veins

Visited with a friend after the lightscape show in botanic garden. Right on our way back to Chicago. We arrived 25 minutes before they close. They still took our order though despite they are preparing for closing. Really appreciate it! The soup warmed up our body after an hour long outside activity. Friend got clam tofu soup and I got a seafood one. Overall the soup was a bit salty. But the ingredients were fresh.
The complimentary appetizers were fresh and tasty. My friend loved it a lot.
My friend kept saying it was the best meal she’d had recently (after a really severe sickness). Glad that she enjoyed it.

Good food with decent atmosphere their staff were friendly and accommodating. We were waiting on 2 other people and they didn’t hound us about it which was very pleasant. Also love the hot tea which has a smoky flavor, I will be back for more.

I’ve been here many times and it’s always been pretty constant. Yet I always forget…:
Few things to remember for next time:
– ordering noodles means you won’t get the stone bowl. Nor the eggs. Don’t do it. Get rice, which means you’ll get a whole stone bowl of rice that you can crust and make into soup.
– Ordering extra hot doesn’t mean it will be extra hot. They just add more pepper flakes, so the soup actually tastes flaky. But doesn’t really do much to make spicy. Get normal.
– Green onion pancake is very thick. So so. I’ve just had a much better version from Jokbal Nightmarket down the street.
– So, stick with their basics. Normal spicy level, good old rice, and no appetizers. Banchan is good enough!

Love this place. It has great and consistent for tofu soup! I love that you can choose either ramen or hot stone rice as a side—it’s a nice touch. Kimchi beef tofu soup is my favorite, spicy please. The food was tasty, but what really stood out was the service. For a Korean restaurant, they went above and beyond: servers took turns checking in, offering refills on side dishes, water, and tea. They’ve also expanded their menu to include bento lunches and cold buckwheat soup, which is absolutely refreshing on a hot summer day. I share some with my kids. They love it so much that they ended up eating it all. I can’t blame this. If you’ve never tried cold noodle soup before, this is the perfect place to start.

Korean restaurant in Chicago. We stopped by before leaving the city… food was amazing. We got 해물파전 & “섞어” 순두부찌개! I did regular spicy level since I’m not good with spicy.. and it was good & was able to handle it ❤️
