Our first time here. It was great ordering and receiving fresh, made to order food. The loaded fries, queso, jalapeño and bacon bits were very good. The Paleo burger was very good but am not sure there was anything to make it stand out above the crowded burger choices.
My wife had the A.1. burger and enjoyed it. The house made chips were good.
Overall the food was middle of the road.
I felt the music was a bit loud but that is subjective.
The staff were friendly and helpful.

I was a regular customer here at Mooyah because I felt the quality and service that you guys upheld were amazing. Unfortunately, I can not say the same about my recent visits. When I came in a couple of months ago, there was a lady there that I remember taking my order in a very dry manner (in this recent visit, I found out this employee’s name was Blanca). That did not bother me at the time as the quality of the food made up for the bad service, so today I decided to come in with my family and get a meal that I was sure we would enjoy. Unfortunately, I was wrong. When we walked in, there were no customers inside the restaurant, and it looked like there hadn’t been for a while (typical on Christmas). I recognized the cashier’s face from my previous experience and noticed it was Blanca. We placed an order, and again, the woman was very snappy, and I again felt a bit unwelcome. After we placed our order, I wanted to confirm that my mother got the correct item, so I double-checked that with her. She looked very annoyed when I asked and mumbled “mhm”. My mother then paid and tipped 15% of our total. We then sat down to get our food. When we got our food, our orders were completely incorrect. I ordered a burger with lettuce, tomato, and no fries, and received a plain burger, while my brother, who ordered a burger with just sauce, received a burger with multiple veggies and did not receive the fries he ordered. This is the most minimal issue. My mother had ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with a side of potato chips. She received a comical amount of crumpled up, stale, and almost burnt potato chips. As this item was $5 and looked almost uneatable, I got up with the uneaten potato chips to go get a refund for them. A nice woman employee whose name I did not catch was very understanding and led me to the cashier for my refund, another 2 male coworkers (who were also friendly) came to assist her, and asked me if there was a particular reason why i would like a refund on the chips, i replied by telling him that they simply did not resemble the picture and we did not feel comfortable paying nor eating it. This is when the original cashier (Blanca), who had taken my order when I first came in, stepped near the cash register in front of me and said to her coworkers, “Well, that’s literally what she ordered,” in a very condescending and rough tone while looking and pointing at my mother sitting down. She then walked away to the back, and as I heard this disrespectful and inappropriate tone being used towards my mother, I asked the other woman cashier what her name was. She then replied Blanca. The 2 male employees then stepped out with the other male coworker to view the chips on the menu, to which they then agreed with me on the quality of the chips, and one of the workers admitted it was their first time making them. I understood and was not upset at them as I got my refund. I then went to sit back down and noticed that my mother’s mushroom swiss burger, which appeared to be rich with fried crispy onions on the menu, had a very small amount of what also seemed to be burnt, soggy onions. I did take a picture of this. We left our visit feeling humiliated and extremely unwanted and uncomfortable, which is something ridiculous to have to experience for solely requesting a refund of poor quality food. Mooyah burgers in Matthews used to be our go-to every week we would come shop at Costco, but the decrease in food quality and especially customer service left us certain that this was our last time here, and embarrassed that I ever recommended this location.

We had Mooyah in Utah and when we found out we were coming to North Carolina we had to make a detour to stop in Mooyah and we were so glad we did!
Brandy was kind, accurate, and patient. The food was amazing!!! The burgers are tender and juicy (regular cheeseburger, Quesonario, and Cheddar Bacon BBQ) the buns are phenomenal, the sweet potato fries are perfectly crisp and salted (a must). And the shakes are thick and flavorful.
We almost skipped coming because of the reviews but I am so glad we stopped. Actually,
we changed to a later flight home so we could stop on the way home too (and also took burgers home with us too).
Thanks Mooyah!!! Now please please please come to Phoenix.

I really wanted to like this location, but unfortunately it was disappointing. I ordered the paleo lettuce-wrapped burger and had to send it back because the lettuce was rotten. That alone was a major turnoff.
My husband ordered the patty melt with fries (well done). The burger was overcooked and lacked seasoning. The fries were okay, but the portion size was extremely small for the price.
We visited around 2:00 PM, so it didn’t seem like they’d been open long enough for cleanliness to already be an issue, yet the bathrooms were not clean, which was surprising and concerning.
We chose this location because we recently ate at a Mooyah in Carlsbad, CA over the break and that experience knocked our socks off. This Matthews, NC location did not come close in terms of food quality or overall experience. We spent $38 with tip, and the value just wasn’t there.
Overall, the food quality, cleanliness, and consistency were not what we expected based on prior experiences with the brand.

I used to LOVE this place, used to rave about it and recommend it to people. I apologize to those people. This place has went to crap. The quality is non existent, the staff stand around with air pods in. The milkshake was runny milk. Before you go spend 20 to 25 dollars a person here please just find somewhere else that will be satisfying because what they are serving here now is not worth it.

Well, let’s just start with the service. The guy taking our order acted like he didn’t really want to be there let alone take our order. The place wasn’t really busy there was about six customers in there, including us. That should’ve been A sign. 2 burgers and 2 fries took around 15 minutes and I could be wrong, but they seemed like they might’ve been frozen patties at some point The fries and the burgers were OK at Best Definitely nothing to brag about. In my mind if you’re going serve Mediocre food at that price you should at least have courteous and welcoming staff members and a nice clean atmosphere which they didn’t, but if you take the time to read the reviews like I should have you can see where it all might stems from. It seems like the management’s or owner’s response to all these comments are somewhat if not all copied and pasted it as if they really don’t care. That’s just my opinion. Definitely don’t see myself returning there or recommending it to anybody

Made a special trip to Mooyah to get the Dude Perfect special box. Unfortunately, the empty box was the best part of the trip.
First off, the staff showed they don’t care about being there and that is abundantly clear in both their interactions with customers and overall cleanliness of the place – dirty dirty dirty. I wish I’d looked up the health score prior to going.
Secondly, the food. The burgers were decent but the fries were undercooked and the lettuce was brown. Picture included for reference. When I brought this to the staff’s attention, I received a shoulder shrug and a look that said “we don’t care.” No offer to provide fresh lettuce, new fries, nothing.
I’m sure some Mooyah chains are quite delicious and provide quality service. If you’re reading this review, I suggest moo-ving along and finding somewhere else to eat. This location misses the mark.

Upon entering, the floor was covered in what I can only assume to be grease. I could barely keep my balance as I was sliding on every part of the floor. Most, if not all of the tables were dirty and had not been attended to. Order numbers were still on the tables. The lady taking our order barely spoke, and she had a sour puss look on her face. She didn’t ask for a name for the order and simply put a description of what my boyfriend was wearing. She did not verify our order at all, so it did not surprise when our order came out wrong. The guy preparing the fppd also didnt seem to care that it was wrong, but based on the receipt, the order was put in wrong anyway. The food tasted ok, but nothing to write home about. This place reminded me of a 2nd rate 5 guys. I would go to 5 guys burgers and fries before I return to Mooyah.

Mooyah’s Last Hoorah! We are done with them. This was one of our favorite burger spots for a while but their downward spiral has not stopped. Came back to give them a second chance after complaining to the manager about the dismal quality of their food several months ago. They were obviously struggling with lack of staff at that time and he offered to make it right. No staffing issues tonight, 7 people behind the counter but the food was still horrid. No where near closing time and the place was near empty on a friday night while the rest of the shopping center was busy as normal (that should have been our sign) the place next door was packed. We ordered and waited on our food, then drove the literal 1.2 miles home to find it was cold. The big issue is that no one cares about the quality of the food coming out of this place. For the cost of their burgers we should be getting better quality than this. Almost no bacon, grilled onions or steak sauce on my “not so”
A Wonderful Burger, the avocado my girl paid extra for was half rotten and then came the fries! We normally order the family size because the 3 of us get plenty but this time they came in 3 small boxes that didn’t even contain what you would get in a normal order. On top of that after picking through them we came up with almost a full order of rotten potatoes! Not just dark on the top but black all the way through. $44 worth of food a 1/3rd of it rotten, I can’t believe none of the Zombies behind the counter caught any of this. As far as I’m concerned this place can
Rest In Peace!
We will surly not be going back.

So, the burgers and hand cut fries are actually really good, however, the price and service are not. The cashier could not explain how price substitutions for combos worked, they a gave me the wrong flavor milkshake, and I had to wait for about 20 minutes when it definitely wasn’t busy. It’s shocking that just getting two combos with a milkshake substitution cost $40, and that’s before providing an optional tip. For a place that cooks all their burgers well done, why am I being charged almost $40. Again, the food was actually good, but I can’t imagine going back for that price and service.
