Stopped in for a quick lunch and was surprised to see how clean and sanitary everything was. Congrats to the staff. Also service here was excellent, and the staff was very on top of things. Food was as expected, however price for kids fish and chips was high for the amount of food. Two small pieces of fish and small handful of fries for eight dollars each. More fries is not going to break the bank for owners. Wish I would have just spent the extra four dollars for a 2 regular size. I would suggest at least topping off the baskets if the fish pieces are smaller. Fortunately we did grab an extra bowl of chowder to top them off. Tab was $30 for three kids.

I decided to take my Cousin to lunch so she picked Ivars in Burien, WA.
Finding a parking spot was easy and right in front.
We walked in, ordered our food and by the time we filled our drink cups and filled our condiments our food was brought to our table. The young gentleman that assisted us had great customer service.
One of the Cooks was very nice and helped me when I needed help.
Now when the other young lady came on shift she didn’t acknowledge me at all as I stood at the front counter to ask for a Senior Citizen application she just looked at me and walked in the back, but I continued to stand there until the one cooks assisted me.
The food was hot but just ok. I ordered the Chicken strips and fries and the White clam chowder. My Cousin ordered the Salmon and fries and the red chowder.
The White chowder was yummy, my Cousin didn’t care for the red chowder, she stated it tasted too much like tomatoes.
Would I come back to Ivars, Yes I would but not that location.

Been going to Ivars since the mid seventies. Every time I come back to the area I always get my Ivars fix more than once. Haven’t found a better place for fish and other seafood items. Their Chowder is amazing. They never disappoint.

Stopped in expecting a great dinner after a long, tough day. The restaurant was busy and had only two employees working, was very cold temperature wise, and most of the empty tables had not been cleaned. Three 3 piece orders and three drinks totaled over $53. We were shocked when our order arrived at how small the fish portions were-probably half the size served prior to the new ownership. We received only three single-fold napkins…….for finger food?……what a joke! The condiments bar was smeared with tarter and catsup and the 7Up was totally flat. Needless to say we will not be going back. I recommend Burien Fish House instead.

I enjoy eating the seafood at Ivar’s. I enjoy the modern aesthetics and ambience of this location, especially. I noticed that there’s a minimal crew that work here and they work efficiently, in an organized fashion and have a sense of urgency.
I brought my uncle here on 5/26/24 try for the first time. My uncle got the seafood combo and chips deal $15 .00 plus a large bowl of chowder. $7.50. I got the three piece fish n chips $12.50 and call cup of chowder $5.25. Service was excellent. There were two servers that would check on us and ask if there was anything we needed.
The only negative currently are that the portions for the cod fish and chips have significantly reduced in size. They used to be pretty huge.
My uncle loved it so much that we ate here again the following day, but in the Puyallup location.

We went for lunch and food was ok. Not incredible but ok. My salmon was a little bit more on the over cooked side. The little corn bread was really tasty though. There was no good options for condiments (for those who don’t like the traditional chip and fish ones, since I find them too artificial). Only tabasco sauce which in my opinion is the equivalent to spicy artificial vinegar. So I really missed flavour.

The highlights are the fish and chips.
We also have the clams and chips but it is like eating crust/breading. I will stay away from that.

This food was delicious. I’m sure others have said it but the chowder is quite tasty. It’s very creamy, with soft yet firm potatoes, and plenty of clams. The fish and chips was almost as good. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

Food Quality in my honest opinion is not that good. Most UNSEASONED FISH & SHRIMP EVER. Prices are insane for what you get. 15.00 for 3 pieces of 1 Fish cut into 3 is absurd. Menu said Jumbo Prawns and I got average ole SKRAWNY, PETITE Shrimp. Dont get me started on the side Caesar. Feels like you step into the 80s interior with 2020 prices.
Wouldn’t go back, nor reccomend. Spend your money at the Hong Kong Mart in the parking lot. Whole fried fish 10 bucks. Seasoned and quality product.
