November is one of the oldest cafés in Berlin, it has weathered a storm of short-lived enterprises nearby. Formerly a fishmongers, the café opened in its current incarnation back in 1989 as part of the reconstruction of Husemannstraße. It was named November in 1993 and hasn’t changed the name since then. THE CATCH FAMILY took over Cafe November in November 2021. The goal was to keep the identity of the site saving many features of the original interior design and highlighting them with iconic bauhaus furniture. Linking together the history of the legendary establishment, our connections to the best fish markets in the world and our expertise in Japanese cuisine we have created the new November – a contemporary Japanese brasserie.

the taste of every dish exceeded our expectations. all the nigiri were excellent, especially the fatty tuna nigiri. the tuna sashimi with kataifi dough was outstanding, and the duck as well as the basque cheesecake were absolutely wonderful.
the atmosphere and service was 10/10 as well
thank you to the november 11 team for what you do! 🙂
Huge kudos to the service team! In Berlin, birthday reservations often get overlooked, but here the staff truly paid attention to every detail. They surprised us with a candle on the dessert, refreshed our plates, introduced the menu with care, and made the entire evening feel special—almost like a little show of its own.
And the bartender definitely deserves a shoutout! We had one of the best non-alcoholic cocktails we’ve ever tried. A wider selection of non-alcoholic wines would be a lovely addition, but everything else was exceptional.
We will be back again!
You could see the two very talented chefs work in the open kitchen. Their precise work, focus and controlling the freshness and quality of food was delightful to look at.
The service throughout the whole evening was very professional and kind. Our waiter gave us very good advice about the sake, cocktails and other alcoholic beverages in combination with the next course of food.
This was all with a nice and personal talk what felt honest and not as a work talk.
If you are in Berlin and love the Japanse kitchen and fresh fish / suhsi, I absolutely recommend this place. Make sure you make a reservation!
If we are back in Berlin we will certainly come back here.
We were not able to sit in the bar in front of the kitchen, which is what a lot of people recommend as part of the experience. So try to book ahead if you want to sit in the bar.
Top-quality fish, perfect sashimi, and the duck breast is unbelievably tender – melts in your mouth
Everything is spot on, from flavors to execution
Outstanding service as well – attentive, warm, and effortless
A true gem in Berlin. Would 100% come back
The service team is magical: warm, attentive, and ultra professional.
Cocktails? Incredible. I would come back on some nights just for them.
And the desserts put a huge exclamation mark on the whole evening. I’m already dreaming of April so I can put my birthday candle into your cheesecake.
What can I say, thank you for such an unforgettable experience.
