Born and raised in Phenix City and just now getting to get to this place.
Amazing food, first thing to say. The one who took our order was super sweet and though there was no one else when we went you could tell the place is set up for a great night to meet up with friends. Music and trivia on one of the TVs and just a super chill and relaxed place.
The food was huge, the prices were great for the size, and the taste was amazing. We got the Cuban, a Philly with Fries, and a Lamb Gyro with House Chips. All of it tasted amazing and the wait wasn’t long at all.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a gem in hiding, I’m super glad I finally went myself.

This place has the most disgusting food. I’m not even sure how they can be considered a pizzeria. I’m starting to believe people have lost all sense of taste buds or we’ve been invaded by alien species that has a completely different style of taste and they actually enjoy garbage. I spent $50 on takeout and none of it was edible. My fires were literally green. I’ve never seen that before. Not to mention they were oily and soggy by the time I get them, but I would’ve tried to dealt with that they served up green fries. And they had the nerve to not send ketchup with it, napkins, or utensils. My cheesy bread was the most disgusting cheese bread I’ve ever seen in my entire life. It was so nasty so bland the bread was completely wrong for that type of Dish. It was super doughy and then on top of that they had the nerved add water to the marinara sauce. Like you could literally see the water line and the only reason why I know is because when I ate it first I noticed when I dipped my bread in there it had no marinara coming off of it then when I ate it, it tasted like nothing. That is just the most low class cheapest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Nothing about that speaks or screams Italian. Then on top of that, they had the nerve to chunk up the Gyro meat. It wasn’t slices. It was a huge disgusting chunks of meat and then when you look at the meat, the out part of it looked old like it had been sitting there. It didn’t give me the feeling that it was this style of Gyro. This is how they do their gyros, it gave me the feeling of them being lazy. The only thing that was good was a salad on the Gyro. I wish I just ordered a salad cause the salad actually was very fresh. Very good but I guarantee you that’s probably hit him too with the level quality. Everything else was. It was just completely uneditable. I would never ever go there or suggest for anyone to go to this place ever again I’m not sure how they have above a 4.0 rating!

I pass this location all the time after work and always wanted to try it; today was that day and wow! I had the Cuban with their chips and it was delicious. Our server was such a gentlemen too. We will definitely be coming back!

Everything is handmade in house so be patient with the cook. The building is showing it’s age and could use a good cleaning. The service is good and it’s definitely a small family business. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A FANCY PLACE… this is not it! I personally don’t have a problem with good food in a neighborhood kind of bar setting! I will be back.

To celebrate a recent life accomplishment, we visited Giovanna’s Pizzeria, and it was the perfect location with a delightful variety of food choices. The tastes were uniquely New York Style, which is as close to Italian as you can get without being in Italy. We ordered Garlic Knots, the White Pie, Sketti & Nonna’s Meatball, and Chicken Alfredo, which came with a salad. The Garlic Knots were a delightful combination of olive oil, pharmaceutical cheese, and garlic. The Sketti was a healthy portion and was so delicious – the fact was fresh and the meatballs (there were 2!) were tender and savory, and the pasta perfect – not over- cooked or mushy; this dish could easily be shared with a child. My son really enjoyed the chicken Alfredo, and found it was also perfect for doing a garlic knot or pizza crust. The white pizza tops the white pizzas I have enjoyed – with the blend of cheese and the seasoning and olive oil on the top, I savored each bite.

I’m so disappointed. We were so excited to finally make it to this place. But I was hesitant almost a soon as we walked in. The place looked dirty and it was empty. Sunday at 1pm are the opening hours and we were the first ones of the day. Tables were dirty, chairs just looked unplaced. It felt like it should have been closed. We just stood there for a few minutes and the owner/waiter/chef comes from the bathroom to greet us. I notice everything and saw he held the bathroom doorknob as he exited. So yuck, right?? Because I know that some people just don’t wash their hands. Anyway, stay with me.
He was very friendly and invited us to have a seat. I excused myself and went to wash my hands. There were no paper towels. Just an air blower. So I left the door open since it was just us, washed my hands and exited.
The tables had a few paper towel rolls on them. Very unsanitary as you have to grip inside to tear or handle it. I’ll continue…
Owner took drink orders and I’m still thinking about, you touched the doorknob. We got beers and I wrapped mine with the paper towels lol! We placed our food orders and I’m concerned again. He’s the only one working so he’s going to now prepare our food. I chose pizza and a salad, hubby, lamb gyro and fries.
As he’s in the back prepping food, phone ring and he comes to the front, hands covered in flour, answers phone and grabs ipad to enter a possible order. What??! A little while later he brings my salad and it already has a fork stuck inside lol!! Sir?! I don’t know about y’all, but I like to do a basic wipe on my utensils. To late!! Lol! After about 25/30 minutes he brings my husband’s order. He’s explaining everything is made to order so it takes longer. My order is brought out about 15 minutes after his. I ordered steak and cheese pizza So he’s explaining how he had to saute the steak and veggies then cook the pizza. He carried the pizza out with a knife and fork just floating all in the air. Sir, utensils should be pre-wrapped in a napkin and given out as guests arrive. Cleaner. Better. Typical. So since mine wasn’t, I debated if the back of my greasy fork had already touched the pizza and just went with the Lord on it because it made sense… sigh. Now I’m not gonna lie, the pizza looked good. The toppings were tasty, BUT, the crust was soggy, limp, and doughy. I took one bite and that was a wrap. I figured I’ll just air fry it later. All in all, I will not be back. Hubby did like his order, but the presentation, long wait for food (about 40 mins total) and cleanliness concerns, are not worth the stop over to Phenix City for my money. All of this can be corrected over time, so I wish them good luck

I have nothing but the best things to say about Giovanna’s!! Nice atmosphere, good food, and friendly staff. Didn’t catch their names but the waitress with 5 kids (that’s what I remember ) is the nicest person. My dad doesn’t eat garlic knots but she included him and asked him if he wanted to try some garlic knots but without garlic. This was my first time trying Giovanna’s and even though it’s pricey, like most places, I would definitely go back. The garlic bread and garlic knots were chefs kiss and the cook was so sweet!

we came in with a large party after traveling all day and they were very accommodating! there was not a lot of people in the restaurant when we went, which is unacceptable. truly some of the best pizza i’ve ever had and the caesar salad (and homemade croutons) were amazing too.

I spent 46$ here without the tip for just my son and I. I didn’t see kid meals/options on the menu so I asked and was told they have a cheese pizza, and a few limited other options. My son loves pizza but he loves toppings and the lady said they can do a pepperoni pizza, I said that’ll be great. I was charged extra for the pepperoni (which I was not instructed of). But before ordering our entrees, I ordered the garlic knots which were about 7$ and it was labeled as an appetizer, so I assumed I would be able to snack on them with my 2 year old as we wait. I got chicken Alfredo and about 20-30 mins I was wondering where the appetizer was but within a few seconds of that thought, it came with the rest of our food. I was disappointed because at that point I didn’t need the knots as my chicken Alfredo also came with the breads too. I asked if the chicken Alfredo was a big portion since it alone was 22$ and the lady insisted it was, and I would be able to split it into 2 but I honestly feel, that wasn’t the case, and paying 22$ for a single entree is ridiculous when it’s something so simple such as chicken Alfredo. My son’s pizza was about 11$ too. Drinks were 3$ a piece. They do offer military discount but that’s 7% unlike the minimum 10% we normally get. They offered for me to pay in cash for a cheaper transaction that would’ve made my bill less than 2$ cheaper. I felt we could’ve been checked on just a tad bit more and as I stated it was our first time there, she could’ve suggested some options especially with the menus having no pictures of things to grasp a child’s eye to eat.
