We are located at 2168 Avenida de La Playa just 250 steps from the sand of one of San Diego’s most visited tourist destinations, La Jolla Shores. Whether you’ve been surfing, kayaking, scuba diving, swimming with the local sea animals, or just relaxing, Shore Rider is an extension of the beach. Shore Rider Bar was the perfect spot to celebrate our son’s 18th birthday after an evening swim! The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and a total hit with our group. Even though we arrived late, our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, kindly letting us know the kitchen was closing soon while ensuring we had plenty of time to order. The service and atmosphere made the night extra special. Highly recommend this place for delicious eats and great vibes!

We got a bite and a drink here before our kayak tour- it was a great beachy vibe, delicious tacos, and a good margarita! The place was huge and wasn’t too busy on a Saturday afternoon. Nathan helped us out at the bar and he was really nice. We ended up doing fish tacos and shrimp tacos. Both were so good! The fish tacos were a nice chunk of fish and are not to be missed.

10/10 Drinks: great, delicious margaritas plus, they have some variety with the mocktails.
3/10 Starter: we got the Brussel sprouts. It wasn’t crispy, cold, too much going on flavor wise. Probably not in season.
Food:
I got the poke bowl, hawaiian style/
ahi. And it doesn’t taste like oahu hawaiian style poke you can get at foodland or onos but it was good enough. Rice was def cali portion and it comes with some side chips. (Please see photos)
My got the shrimp, carne asada, and first tacos.
He states the best one is the carme asada, while the fish and shrimp were tied.
The tacos were socal style surfer tacos and nothing at all like the kind you get from a downtown or SD street style tacos.
Vibes: very beachy and touristy. Can be fun with groups and family friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Had lunch with family here. I really wanted to give them more stars because I was enjoying the kale salad with chicken but there was a hair in it and it completely ruined my appetite. Brownie points for them because they didn’t charge me for it.

This is one of my new go to places in San Diego! We went here for dinner and got the rice bowl and the poke bowl! Both were so good we had to go back another time before leaving at the end of our vacation. Their lemonades are great as well!

We popped into Shore Rider on a whim after a beach day, and it turned out to be a great choice! It was busy, but the space is large and open, so it didn’t feel overwhelming. We ordered the fish tacos and chips with guacamole, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out fairly quickly despite the crowd. Our margaritas took a bit longer to arrive, but the bar was definitely slammed as there was a Padres game on, so that could have been part of it. What really stood out to me was how family- and dog-friendly the place is. It’s clean, casual, and perfect if you’re out with a group or want to bring the kiddos or pups along. They also had a solid beer selection for those who prefer brews over cocktails. Great place to kick back and enjoy a casual, coastal evening.

Loved this place so much I came back the next day. The poke nachos with fresh ahi tuna were unreal, fresh, flavorful, and honestly hard to beat. Brought my daughter both times and the staff was great. Fun energy, great food, and clearly a go-to La Jolla spot.

Excellent spot in La Jolla, non fussy and very local friendly… Always has a good mix of people. The food here is fantastic, prepared with love and extra focus on ingredients. Just ask your server about allergens and they will be happy to talk about it. It’s a bar and restaurant with extremely capable bartenders and wonderful chefs.
You will have a good time here, 10/10 have never been disappointed. My group were a gaggle of swimmers, everyone ordered unique drinks and menu items and everyone went home happy with their selections.
Must try the nachos!

Super busy and you immediately see why. Friendly and fast service and every food item was a knockout. House fish taco toppings seemed like a lot on paper but really went well together. The steak fries were a bold thick style executed perfectly. House lager was delicious.
