The Steam Plant Restaurant & Brew Pub building has been a readily identifiable Spokane landmark having tall smokestacks and high arched windows that have graced the Spokane skyline since 1916. Although the Steam Plant has been renovated to become a multi-use facility, much of the original steam plant is still in place. The building now houses small-business offices, a restaurant, a bar, and a wine room. The businesses are located on the top three floors, while the restaurant is on the main floor, and the bar and wine room are below. The family-friendly restaurant serves a variety of dishes from shareable appetizers to hamburgers to steaks, pasta, and pizza. The desserts are rich and sinfully delicious.

What an amazing place! The atmosphere is unlike any place I’ve ever been. It’s a little pricey so be prepared and it took a minute for the server to warm up to us but she got there. Otherwise food was delicious, they have live music and it’s all in all a really cool place.

The building is huge and very interesting! We were there during Halloween and had to wait a little for our food. The burgers were good. The menu is not as varied as we expected. Walking to the restaurant was not the best choice because you have to go through some sketchy areas. If you are a big group, this is a good option.

Cool building, lots of visual interest. Service was great. Wait staff was attentive and made menu suggestions. Husband ordered the prime rib and asked if vegetables could be prepared without garlic (sensitivity). Told not a problem, but green beans were quite garlicky. My salad was great.

Very cool vibe in this historic building and also enjoyed the local musician/artist! It was just him and his amazing bass voice and excellent acoustic guitar! He played when our large family came in for birthday dinners for 2 of our sons. Bar is in the lower level with open area for sound to travel up to main floor and upper levels so was very cool.

What a cool concept to turn something so industrial, a remnant of the past, into such a thrilling restraunt experience.
The atmosphere, with the feeling of overwhelming and epic historical significance, creates a surreal environment for diners. The staff are a tier above your standard restraunt experience, finding ways to joke and relate with their guests.
Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype or expectations I had going in. I ordered the prime rib, and I have to say I was severely disappointed. The meat, while cooked well, was clearly left to sit for a time as the food was cold when it came out. The potatoes lacked any moisture, and were a dry/crumbling mess. The sauce for the steak may have well just been water, as it lacked even the slightest semblance of flavor.
While I have no doubt my dining experience was an anomaly, it left a poor taste in my mouth for what has immense potential.

We had such a great experience tonight! Three of us went for a birthday dinner and Im so glad we did. Everyone’s food was so amazing (curry clams, burger, shrimp pasta, & ceasar w chicken), the building itself was so fun to walk around and learn about, the service was good (our server was Ashley), drinks were great, and the desserts (raspberry cheesecake & lemon chiffon cake) were just amazing. We all cannot stop talking about our meal!

This place is crazy cool. How they left the bones of the steamplant inside and made it into a bar was really neat to look at. We had a dessert and a couple drinks at the bar. The bartender was so friendly and we just loved this place. The huckleberry cheesecake was absolutely delicious too ❤️

Staying in Spokane for the night. The Steam Plant was.super.close to our stay. We are so glad we gave it a try!. I had the red ale which went perfectly with the Stack Burger. Burger had great flavor!. Not to dry..not over sauced. The onion rings were a nice addition to the burger. The fries are perfect. Beer battered and cooked perfectly.
My girl had the Ribeye. Green beans were super good and the steak had great flavor! Cook as she ordered..nice and juicy. I didn’t get to try the mashed potatoes. But the looked good. We shared the ribs for an appetizer. Meat was tender, fall off the bone. Sweet on the front end and the complex flavors show up subtly melting into a good smooth smokey finish. I highly recommend!
Good job guys. I should mention we sat in the bar arwa down stairs. So glad we did.. the decor and the vibe was exactly what we needed getting off the road for the night.

Wow! I cannot say enough good things! Our server for the night was Dalton. He was prompt, friendly, and fast. He always was checking in at the perfect moments and didn’t let my water glass go empty. My group and I started my Bach weekend here and the food was fantastic. I loved their juicy thick burger. At the end of the meal, Dalton comped my entree for me which was just the sweetest. I know they definitely don’t need to do this and I wasnt expecting it but it made the night just that much more special. Great experience:)

Very cool restaurant atmosphere inside an old steam plant. Great service and food. Large portions. We celebrated a birthday, and our server gave us dessert with a candle. So nice! The lemon chiffon cake was delicious!
