Parla was a planned brunch stop on a girl’s weekend inspired purely from a few good reviews, a humorous menu and the option to roll a D20 for a mystery cocktail. The atmosphere was warm and bright for a cold February morning. The staff was super personal and made great recommendations, and it was clear how much Parla was an intense labor of love.

Three out of four of us rolled for a mystery cocktail (the odds were in our favor) and all had uniquely crafted drinks you are unlikely to encounter in your average bar (highly recommend trying one of the roasted beet shrub options, we were surprised by just how good it was). The brunch menu was our biggest obstacle as we would have ideally liked to try one of everything…and everything was excellent. Chicken and waffles, the crackwich, and the Maine Benny were our final picks. Cooked to perfection, great flavors even when we thought we knew what to expect.

Honestly, this was one of the highlights of our trip. Prices were competitive with other breakfast and brunch locations. If you are set on them, I’d advise a reservation as the space is small! Definitely recommend!

This place had the best food we ate in Boston. Located in the North End neighborhood, it was surprising that a super modern locale was actually our favorite. They also had the best cocktails we tried. The lemon drop and old fashioned were superb. The service was great and we were given plenty of time and were checked every so often. The ambience was great with the lighting creating a nice atmosphere. The music was a bit too loud for us but overall we could handled that. A key thing is, RESERVATIONS are a must. We saw many people, even in a Thursday, being turned away because of space. Note that they have seating for 25-30 and 3-4 in the bar. So space is always an issue. Overall, I highly recommend visiting them, but ensure you plan ahead so you can have a table ready.

If anyone knows how I review, It’s no secret I’ll tell it how it is. I was walking past this restaurant headed to another and decided to give it a try. First impressions were nice, host was sweet and this small and cozy restaurant was inviting. I was able to sit with no reservations ordered and life was great. I got my food within 15 minutes , and what looks great turned out to not be. I ordered the Maine Benny, my biscuit on the bottom was burnt, the lobster was 100% cold and rubbery , but the eggs were cooked perfectly. I’m just very disappointed for north end breakfast which is typically a hit. I can just say, next time a plate I brought out please check the food and the temperature and make sure the food is up to standards. If your looking for a restaurant I would definitely stop by just be aware it could be a miss, but staff was nice and tried to accommodate.

While the restaurant itself has a warm and cozy vibe we didn’t receive a warm reception. We didn’t even get shown to a table. The waiter merely pointed to the table that he wanted us to sit at. The place didn’t seem all that clean. The menus although quirky felt grubby and dirty. We ordered the potatoes, Brussels sprouts, lamb skewers and the meatballs. The sauce with the meatballs was like water. The skewers were overcooked and chewy. The fried Brussels sprouts were soggy. The potatoes were overcooked as well. There’s a wealth of good quality restaurants on Hanover Street but this place lacks quality.

Fun, Fun, Fun tiny bar in Little Italy on North End. Mixologist are so in to their craft here, using obscure liquors and mixes.

Only 6 seats at the bar. Very intimate place. Interestingly decorated. So fun. You just gotta go.

High expectations, and I liked it better than I could’ve hoped for!
First of all, the service and the staff were all great, awesome.
The wine list wasn’t huge but there were some nice choices. And when I ordered a glass off the beaten path they brought me a taste just to make sure I loved it. The girl working the door and tables nailed every part of the experience. I’m sorry I didn’t get her name because she was fantastic.
The food actually was the surprise. I didn’t expect the lobster ravioli tired with shrimp scampi to rival the more talked about placed on Hanover, but it did – great! I had to try the pork belly “chips” as an app and was right up there too. Dessert was lil’ baby cannoli – just a taste, you don’t have to eat it all!
Bonus: they had the dots open to the sidewalk to give a real Italian ristorante feel.
Overall a great dinner, I’ll be back.

We had a great time at Parla. Requested a nice table when making a reservation, and were pleasantly surprised that the best table in the place was waiting for us when we arrived–right by the window with the best views. Their dungeon master list is a lot of fun if you are feeling adventurous and are ok with the dice making the cocktail decisions. However, be prepared to receive drinks you may not enjoy as much. If you are particular with your drinks, I recommend ordering something from the menu (or something you want off the menu–they are super flexible!) We rolled the dice several times for the drinks and tried the lamb skewers, the octopus, and the ricotta fritters. The drinks were creative/memorable, with distinct flavors and interesting presentations. The skewers and octopus were both delicious and the portions significant–in fact, we ended up skipping entrees. The ricotta fritters were alright; there were only a few of them, and the flavor was lacking. The atmosphere was welcoming/cozy. The music got a little loud in the later part of the evening, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing depending on your mood. Seating arrangement was also not ideal since all the groups were concentrated in one part of the bar, which also contributed to the noise. That being said, we appreciated the enthusiasm of the bartenders/wait staff, and enjoyed a free shot together with the other guests in the bar. It’s definitely one of the best cocktail bars in the North End– worth a visit!

We had such an AMAZING time, between Shaylee and David, these two are sooooo fun! We had espresso martini and it was SO good, the roll the dice drinks were so good just be open to it. Anyway chill vibe and barely any wait time. They also recommended some nearby restaurants so 10/10. This place is recommended 100%

We stumbled upon this place looking for brunch and we basically ordered everything on the brunch menu! Everything was delicious and the servers were super nice! I really liked the atmosphere and the Bloody Mary was perfect! I have to say, the cinnamon sugar beignets were probably my favorite-they were out of this world! We tried the braised lamb arriancini and they were awesome the sauce was so fresh and the meat was so tender….the pork belly was also good I really enjoyed the dipping sauce, same with the waffle battered breakfast sausages..also had the chicken and waffles and shakshuka…and a blackberry cilantro shrub…every thing was great! I am glad I found this place! I definitely recommend!!!

The cocktail selection was outstanding. I got a real kick out of rolling the die to determine what surprise drink I was going to have – and they recorded it on my card so on the next visit they can make certain I don’t roll the same drink again.
Ernesto’s Parmesan and the Spaghetti Carbonara were excellent. Too full to consider dessert on this visit.
Service was superior. Small space – reservations required!
