I’m surprised that I haven’t reviewed this place yet since I’ve been coming here occasionally for years!!! Located at Shops of Don Mills across of Joey’s makes it a fun location as you can visit a variety of stores to buy clothes or treats before dinner. There is always parking here either outside near Metro grocery store or the covered multi-level lot.

We usually come here on Tuesdays since they offer buck a shuck oysters (Wednesdays too) however don’t let the words fool you. The most basic of East coast oysters are malpeques then for $1.50, you can get the Fanny Bays. The malpeques are not my favorite but it is mostly fresh. My friend had a bad oyster on our recent visit there.

We also usually order a bunch of other Tapas items. Since it was only the two of us this time, we only ordered the Japa burgers (3 in an order + $6.60 for an additional one), crispy pork belly, and a spicy shrimp specialty roll. Everything came out pretty fast & was tasty as always.

Other items I’ve had before & recommend is the ebi-mayo (tiger shrimps), fried chicken, oden, tako wasabi raw.

The service there is always good. They are friendly with just the right amount of attentive.

Spacious, cool dinning room, servers are very attentive. Yam fries, burger are very tasty, too bad, out of chicken wing,at the time. For oyster, we order Malpeque and fanny bay, I actually prefer the fanny bay, even it is a bit more than a buck each. Overall experience is nice.

First time eating here and definitely will not be my last! Service was quick. Restaurant had plenty of seats on a Tuesday evening. The menu was pretty diverse. The tuna tataki with yuzu was really good and the Cali donburi bowl was also very good. The sauce was perfect. The prices weren’t that expensive either. Would definitely come back.

Had a fantastic dinner here tonight. The room is beautiful and warm and the service is attentive, friendly and professional. The food…..well that’s the best part. The Japaburgees and crispy shrimp sliders are moist and delicious, great portion. Fresh oysters, with a great selection of sauces. The pork belly was soft yet crispy and rich, the spicy galbi ribs were rich and a reasonable amount of spice but the fried chicken was the show pieces we ordered 2 orders. Well done! We will be back .

The food was very good I would return but the server made the service felt rushed. I would recommend the spicy shrimp rolls if that’s your thing. The yam fries were amazing but the dipping sauce wasn’t for me. The short ribs and fried chicken hit the spot. The lychee martini was a bit light – on the liquor but the fresh lychee changed the game.

It’s amazing how the food and service are always consistent here. Every server were knowledgeable about the menu and were very all very nice and on top of everything.

Brought my mom here for the second time last night, and she’s already talking about the next time she’ll be back. Everything was 10/10, the japa-burger and tiger shrimp are our all time fave!

I stopped by on Monday and was blown away by the all-day happy hour — what an incredible deal! It’s not just discounted drinks for a couple of hours… it’s happy hour pricing on drinks and food all day long. That alone makes Mondays something to look forward to.

The food was absolutely delicious. What really impressed me was that these weren’t tiny “happy hour” portions — they were full-size servings. You truly get amazing value without sacrificing quality or quantity.
Everything we tried was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy great food and drinks without breaking the bank.

Always a good time at Nome Izakaya I come here a lot and it’s hands down one of my fave spots.

The oysters are always so fresh and their burger sliders is always our must-order every single visit.

Fun, casual vibe with quick service. Menu has tons of fun snacks to try as well.

Been a fan of Nome Izakaya all these years. Always a great time at this Shops at Don Mills location. It is always busy; waitresses did seem a tad overwhelmed during our recent visit, but they are all so friendly and still take great care of you. They have plenty of seats on the patio, and can accommodate large groups too.

We went there recently in the summer and tried out their NEW summer items. I really want to compliment on the Shoyu Butter Steak; it was so juicy and tender, and I loved the creamy mash underneath.

Oyster deals on Tuesdays are still on; not a fan of the $1 oysters (too small imo) but they do have another oyster deal that was pretty good.

We also ordered sake bomb for nostalgia lol. Instead of mini sake cups, they now use a plastic sauce container XD Our waitress said the sake cups break a lot, and overtime, they decided to make the switch, I’m DED. Yea, I don’t think I’ll be ordering that again!
