We ordered takeout from Big Lee’s – Serious About Barbecue and overall had a good experience. Kevontrae was very helpful and kind — a real pleasure to deal with. The food tasted great, but the portions were pretty small for the price, (It fed 2 ppl) and we didn’t receive much barbecue sauce with our family meal. I’d recommend dining in so you can see what you’re getting. Great flavor, just a bit pricey for the amount of food.

If someone is serious about dining with friends or solo, the food here is soooo good. The videos are real. We met a lady who drove from SC to Ocala, FL for this meal. We drove 2 hours (Jacksonville, FL). We almost bought everything. Unfortunately, they sold out of the sausage before we could get there. It just means I must go back, and hopefully I will remember to ask for my military discount (lol). I even ordered food to go. We did not finish the family meal, but we did talk about how juicy the meat was and how we looked forward to eating the to go order later in the day or the next day as leftovers.

I’m going to attempt to give a straightforward review without getting my feelings involved… Doc and I were looking forward to visiting this place after seeing so many posts and ads, so we decided to do a day date and make a road trip to Ocala (1.5 hrs).
The food was lukewarm (we prefer our food hot). The brisket was tender but slightly underseasoned.
The Mac and cheese was very loose. The baked beans had a decent taste however, they were barely warm.
I’m going to leave it at that.
The people were friendly and nice.

We decided to take a little road trip to Ocala to check out @mybigleesbbq @Rashad Jones. This is the best BBQ I have ever had!! We arrived right before noon and were greeted with a friendly welcome from multiple employees, the restaurant was clean (even the bathrooms), and the service was great (answered all of our questions and gave us suggestions). Again, it was noon on a Saturday with a line out the door. Our name was called in less than 5 minutes! All of the food we ordered was correct, had a great presentation, and made to perfection. I have eaten a lot of BBQ and this is by far the best in have ever had. We sampled one another’s so we could try everything. Everything had great seasoning and unique delicious flavors. DO NOT sleep on the saucses! Most BBQ joints miss on the cole slaw but not Big Lee’s. After we were finished Rashad came and visited our table and made sure everything was too our liking, asked if we needed a box, asked where we traveled from and what brought us to Ocala. We told him straight up that we were there for his food! Wow! From the parking lot, to the bathrooms, to the amazing foid, to the great conversations, I give this establishment a 10/10!!

I didn’t eat any brisket but my spouse said it was delicious & tender.
I had the chicken…it was very tender but needed some seasoning.

We traveled from Jacksonville Florida to try Big Lee’s Barbecue as it was trolling over TikTok. The wait wasn’t that long unfortunately they ran out regular ice tea. We did try the Lee’s tea not so great . My husband ordered Brisket with fries and corn nuggets, I wanted ribs but unfortunately they ran out so I settled for the pulled pork baked beans and corn nuggets. My husband gave the food 6/10 it said it wasn’t worth the drive. Let’s say it’s not all the hype sorry but not sorry

The rack of ribs were delicious. I also ordered the Mac-n -cheese and the peach cobbler, which are both terrible, I would avoid them. The coleslaw was good. Check your receipt, I was double billed.

Great food! Most try their family plate. The ribs and brisket are just that good . Corn nuggets, fries and ribs was our boy’s favorite. I had the birria tacos, totally different than other places their were very cheesy and delicious!
Is not that they don’t have enough tables is just a popular place to eat. So if you are deciding to try it just know it can get crowded but the food is worth the wait.
Staff was very friendly and attentive to their customers. Made the experience that much better. Very clean place and totally kid friendly!

The best BBQ food in Ocala. We had the family plater, which included all the meats. Then you have your choice of 4 sides.
The sausage was the star. We never had a sausage that good. Brisket amd chicken were pretty good too.
We should have got double fries bc they were so good. As a matter of fact that fry cook was on point. Fried ocra and corn fritters were bomb too.
Price was decent. Plus they gave 15% military discount.
Staff was very friendly. Its a bit scary now days on all the craziness we see on social media, but no, everyone was nice and cool.
Definitely returning here to satisfy our BBQ craving
