I ordered butter chicken and mutton vindaloo, lemon rice, garlic naan, onion salad and regular salad. The butter chicken and vindaloo were very good. I am very paranoid to gamey good and the mutton was tender and had good flavor. It was not oily and very light if that is possible. I have only tried indian from the us (nyc) so that is all i can compare it to. The garlic naan was less bubbly that i am used to but it was more flat abd more tortilla texture. Perhaps it was because it is in mexico but the flavor was also good, crispy and chewy. I am not sure but rice doesn’t come with the curries so i am glad i ordered the lemon rice which had flavor and good texture but i couldnt really sense the lemon but it worked well with the curries. I also had the mango lassi which was very good. I had never had cardamom in it and i liked it a lot. The onion salad was good but please know it is a giant plate of onions not a small plate which is what i thought.
The place is very clean and the waiter was very nice and helpful. Tbh we were very early for lunch so it was emptyish but I am ok with it.

Authentic Indian flavours with heartwarming service.
It offers some of the best Indian food in Mexico City. The dishes are full of flavour, fresh, and taste truly authentic. What really stands out is the warm and caring customer service staff make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. A must-visit for Indian food lovers.

We ordered vegetarian Thali, which included Butter naan, papad, 3 types of curries, rice, yogurt and jamoon. Every item on the thali was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent. There is no bar in the restaurant, however you can buy beer etc from the 2nd floor bar, they will serve that to the table. If you are craving for Indian food in Mexico City Centro area, a must visit place.

We were craving for some good indian food and the reviews got us to this place. The food was good with authentic indian flavors. The pepper chicken tikka, samosa and prawn masala were amazing. However it’s difficult to find this place. You have to enter inside mercado independenci and go to the first floor.

The food was good, although some dishes were a bit too sweet and some salty. Overall delicious though.
Definitely get the garlic naan and order arroz because rice is not complimentary with the entrees you order.

Loved my time in CDMX enjoying all the Mexican food, but sometimes I want a little break and variety.
Being a lover of Indian food, I was pleasantly surprised to see this place near me.
The channa masala was tasty, although it had a unique taste I never had before. That did not ruin my experience, however. The butter naan was not as soft as I hoped, but it was still good.
Swagat is a hidden gem tucked away in a very generic building. You have to go inside up some stairs to get there.
If you’re in CDMX and crave a little variety and especially if you are vegetarian, Swagat is a good place to go.
I hope more international restaurants add to the many food options already in CDMX.

What a find for Indian food in CDMX. And with that many 5 star reviews I was hopeful but doubtful as well wether the taste was really upto the liking of Indian Pallete. There are multiple Indian restaurants in CDMX but off late customer feedback is not consistent. This restaurant had good consistent feedback and on our try all the review were genuine.
I was so glad but all the food we ordered exceeded our expectation. Starter / appetizer and main course was excellent. Chai was spot on and the mango lassi was remarakable. One of the best mango lassi we ever had. We spent 3 days eating at the restaurant and we kept coming back for more. Staff is friendly and prompt and they take care of our needs. This is one of the restaurants for which you wont regret travelling to.
What happens in future I am not sure but as of now writing this it is well worth it and hope they keep it consistent.
It is located inside “Mercado Independencia“ so from outside you are never going to find it unless you have searched on google maps for Indian food. They should do something to advertise to get more attention. I have put up the photos of building hope it helps to find the restaurant.
