This is a lovely family seafood restaurant, staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The oysters were great but the fish & chips was a little too deep fried (that oily taste).
Highly recommend for a group meal but be prepared to have a higher budget.

4.5 stars- Really enjoyed a late lunch at Fatfish. Their raw bar was fresh and each dish was tasty. Service was exceptional and you cannot beat eating with a beautiful view of the water. The fish and chips was okay, but the batter on the fish was more doughy than crispy. Can not wait to be back and try more dishes

Hidden away at the end of a canal: 28 Cottage Ave Bay Shore, NY 11706. The food is amazing. The explosion in your mouth is worth the price. I had ceviche and pan seared tuna. Paige was one of the best servers/bartenders I’ve had in a while. She made me a PB&J expresso martini with tequila. It was sooooo good. The Key Lime pie was good even though it’s not made in house. This is a definite diamond in the rough. I hear Thursday happy hour is not to be missed. I will be here Thursday and will let you know. Sunday afternoon. Music is getting good. Make this your next date night.

Fatfish is located in a unique corner overlooking the Great South Bay, my friend and I sat in the enclosed outdoor area; which felt like basically sitting in the Bay! The parking lot directly there is terrible, so I recommend you part in the larger parking lot and then take a stroll/walk or get dropped off etc. The place itself is clean and inviting, the food options are amazing and we decided to just share some appetizers, they also have Malbec which is great for me! Our waitress was very attentive and prompt even when we clearly didn’t need anything, but I appreciate her attention. The restroom was clean and handicap accessible which is always a plus. The location for me just makes me uneasy, I know taking a whole business elsewhere makes no sense but it’s more accessible for those who truly appreciate the bay…on this day it was a bit cloudy but I would recommend for a nice lunch to anyone.

Great place. Stunning views, you are right on the water! They have a nice outdoor area with flaps that can be closed on cold days making this an ideal place for any weather! And the food is delicious as well! I would definitely recommend the mushroom gnocchi! They also have a very good beer/wines/cocktail selection. On top of it, you get excellent service and a very friendly staff. And to round it all up, the dessert drinks are delicious and a must try!

Great scenery and atmosphere, but I’d say a bit overpriced and overhyped. There is only parking for employees so not sure where else you can park. The food was good but not memorable. We had the lobster fest and it was good with the butter, but if it wasn’t for the butter, it’s just plain boiled lobster. The mussels were pretty good in the garlic sauce. They had ice cream included with kids meal. We had chocolate desert. Overall good, just overpriced.

What a fabulous night with the family. Beautiful setting. Dinner was pricey but worth it. I had the swordfish. Also had a beet and goat cheese salad, simple but amazing. Dessert was a cappuccino and cheesecake, also very good. Service was great. Would have loved to sit outside but they couldn’t accommodate at the time. We sat inside with doors open and it worked enough. Drinks were good, I had a Margarita. It is a very beautiful place to go.

Food is heavily overpriced and under portioned. I attached a picture of the 12$ side of fries I ordered, it came with exactly 9 fries. I also attached a picture of the crab tempura, which came with one comically small piece of tempura.

I meet friends here every summer and we’re never disappointed. Every dish and drink is beautifully presented and delicious- good portion sizes, perfectly seasoned and freshly prepared. Waterfront view from patio cannot be beat because you are right on the Great South Bay (interior is air conditioned, open and airy if you prefer). Service is courteous if a bit slower than we preferred (parking lot is metered). Shrimp in Trench Coats w/aioli appetizer is a must have!!

My husband and I went with another couple and had a bunch of delicious appetizers! We had not been here in years and I am not sure why because the food is amazing!! We had the octopus, baked clams, calamari, oysters and seafood salad. Will be back again soon!
