Highly recommend! Off the beaten path restaurant that does awesome seafood dishes.
Found this place on google maps during my most recent stay in Montparnasse. Waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Very unique menu presentation in the form of a whiteboard.
I ordered the razor clams entree, and seabream with black olive purée. Everything was on point, right down to the bread and butter sides they serve.
Be sure to check out this place if you’re visiting Montparnasse.

Just excellent and simple seafood. A fresh menu with beautiful accompaniments. Highly recommend any white fish with tapenade.

We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation, and overall, it was a great experience. The wine menu was selective and rich, with some excellent options. They serve food based on a fresh daily menu, which was a nice touch. The mussels were especially fresh and incredibly tasty definitely a highlight!
Desserts were presented on a whiteboard menu, which gave it a nice local feel, and everything we tried was delicious.
That said, not everything was perfect. The fried fish and calamari were disappointing both were quite dry and lacked flavor. The service was also a bit slow, and about half the staff didn’t speak English, which made communication a little tricky. That said, they were kind and did their best to help

Great service from the staff. Enjoyed how they brought the daily menu out to the table, (on a white board) and was able to explain their offerings. Seating felt a bit cramped.
Food wise, fresh seafood, and wine!
My only grip was that the food had little to no flavors / taste. I would assume it was very lightly seasoned to accommodate a wide range of palates. I just expected more for the price range.
The red fish was seasoned well. The rest not so. In my opinion, the vegetable sides I ordered had 0% seasoning.
Absolutely enjoyed the small bowl of complimentary bread and clams.
My Calamari and fried onions were a bit overcooked; however, still edible.
Only able to order one serving of razor claim, due to them having limited offerings. Only my friend was able to enjoy. I sampled one of his and it was delicious.

Just stunning. A hidden gem in Paris. All our food was exquisite and of a very high quality for a reasonable price. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. We will be back

All the dishes were delicious, and even the complimentary clams were outstanding. Since it’s seafood, the prices are on the higher side, but it’s still recommended. The wine list doesn’t have as many good-value options as expected, so you really need to look through it.

La Cagouille is one of those places that when you are in the mood for spectacular seafood, this is where you go. First off, top service here, friendly and helpful and hardworking…a very rare thing in Paris. The atmosphere is also really enjoyable and pleasing…sat outside on the terrace on a warm summer night and it was the perfect stage for this dining experience. Clams, oysters, fried anchovies green salad plus perfectly cooked and very tasty fish. Everything fresh and cooked on point…plus amazing wine list and very reasonable prices. One of latest favorite dinners in Paris, beyond my expectations.

We visited La Cagouille for our anniversary, and it was the best decision! The staff was extremely polite and attentive.
The food was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. We especially loved all the seafood dishes – fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. The staff also helped us choose a wine that paired perfectly with our meal.
The atmosphere was warm and cozy, creating a perfect dining experience. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant!
