I always love coming to Dale’s Diner for diner with my family. The atmosphere is sweet and beautiful. The decor is amazing! More than anything the service is the best! They have comfort food, always quick to serve and the meals are always good with big portions.
Our favorite favorite diners in all LA and Orange County.

I came here a couple of times, and I like how this diner plays old-school classic music (from the 1950s and 1960s), which are the type of music I love, and of course, the people are really cool, especially the girls like Winter, Vivian, Delilah, etc., but what’s absolutely really sad and disappointing is that my parents and I learned and found out that their food is frozen. I was absolutely very disappointed to learn and find out that their food is frozen. I wish for this restaurant to replace their frozen food with fresh food instead. That’s what every diners like this should know as they should know better.
Another thing I don’t like about this restaurant is how the parking for our vehicles are and that most of the food contains bread as well.

Originally opened as Dales in 1988, it is the site of the former Lakewood Broiler and has been around for a long time. The decor shows it and is a nice representation of Diner life from a couple generations back. Pleasant wait staff, clean tables & counter really add to the aesthetics, not to mention the delicious food.

I take my son here for breakfast. It’s a great place to eat and chill. Food is good and portions are plenty. Staff are friendly and attentive. Their coffee is pretty good as well.
I get their Corn Beef hash. This place and Uncle Buds are the only two places I’ll eat breakfast at around here.

Brooke’s service wow. Bailey’s attentiveness wow. The food and portions. Need I say it? Wow
This was a once in a lifetime experience with an undefeated ambience. From the timeless antiques to the welcoming nature, I was stunned. Here are some photos that show the time we had. You will be forgiven for thinking we are at Disney world with how much fun we had.
Here you’ll see myself & Brandon enjoying classic diner food and some good times.

One of my favorite diners in Long Beach or the whole South Bay area. It’s very similar to George’s close by in that it is a traditional retro diner modeled after the 1950s. I am working through a list of all diners in LA County and next up on my list was Dale’s. I was excited to try it because it’s the sort of place that I love to visit and looking from the outside I knew that I would enjoy what was on the menu. They don’t have a dedicated parking lot however street parking is extremely easy to find in this part of town so we were able to find a free space right out front. Our server was extremely polite and checked in on us often and everything that we ordered came out very fast. They have a large menu filled with all sorts of great options so it’s the sort of place that would be easy to visit multiple times and be able to get something new each time. Pricing is also very fair, which is probably one of my favorite parts of any diner.

For this visit, we started off with a Cinnamon Roll, and I honestly was not a fan of it. It was very dry and tasted more like a muffin than a traditional cinnamon roll. I am pretty sure they bought it in a large batch and was not homemade so I would not recommend ordering it. For my meal I chose the Hamburger Steak and Eggs and thought it was great. The patty had a lot of great seasoning on it, and the eggs were cooked perfectly and the portion size was very generous. Overall I really enjoyed it although I was not a fan of the Cinnamon Roll.

I would highly recommend to any fan of diners or to anyone in the Long Beach area searching for a great casual meal.

Dales is kind of an anomaly. Great food. Good service. & a cool atmosphere. Plenty of parking even with the other businesses. Now here’s the crazy thing. This place is so good it’s criminally easy to get a seat at a busy time. But I am grateful for that. Dales is a gem & a staple of the community.

First time for my wife and me. We loved it! Excellent service by the young lady this morning. Love the 50’s throwback vibe, which included very comfortable booth benches! Our breakfast dishes were delicious and we look forward to tasting and testing the rest of their menu!

Good food. Great service. One of my favorite spots. I don’t live in the area anymore so it was a treat to visit again after many years and to find that it hasn’t changed.

Fun decor.
We had a grilled cheese sandwich, nothing special, yellow cheese and white bread and the corn beef hash, large portion not a lot of flavor.
Service was great! Cute area.
