The food was delicious, from the bread basket, olive oil and olives, oysters, ceviche and risotto
I have one more day in Vienna and would not hesitate to go there again!
We booked a table in advance since this spot is popular on weekends. While the service was generally “good,” the experience felt a bit unequal. We noticed other tables being shown their cooked ready fish before it was gone back to the kitchen ,so the fish will be presented on the plate clean from bones—a nice touch that we unfortunately weren’t offered.
Furthermore, the wait times were significant. It was disappointing to see guests who arrived after us being served first; it gave the impression that locals receive priority over visitors. The food itself was okeish, but e.g crab was quite dry, but given the hype, it wasn’t quite the “out of this world” experience we expected.
DO not come here for a date, there is no seasoning and the fish is very watery… 90% of the plate is vegetables
The picture tagged is the main dish…
Edit: We spoke to the service and he kindly gave us coffee on the house. However, this does not change my point on the cooking quality of the fish.
For example, the olive oil is amazing but the olives were way too salty in my opinion.
The fact that they have shrimp carpaccio is great (not so easy to find in Vienna) but they didn’t feel very fresh.
The linguine was freshly made and I loved the ample amount of langoustine meat, but the sauce was very over powering and had unusual flavouring such as spring onions. I am no expert but the noodles felt like it was tasted with garlic and spring onions, and this gave the pasta dish a very “asian feel”. Again, I’m no expert, but spring onions is not an usual herb used in tomato pasta.
I would love to come back to try more fish menus, but my choices today didn’t live up to my expectations. However, the restaurant has a very good atmosphere and kind and attentive service from the staff.
The seafood pasta I ordered was excellent however, and the mix of fresh seafood was delicious. My partner had fresh scallops and she enjoyed them.
The waiter was friendly and helped with wine selection with a sample before we made our selection.
The restaurant is cozy and you can tell they make a real effort with so many details.
It is an expensive place and might be OK for a special occasions, but be prepared to spend a lot for the food
We initially ordered ceviche and foie gras. Shortly after, we were informed that the ceviche was no longer available, despite it being only 6:30 pm. This is unexpected for a restaurant of this standing. We replaced it with soft shell crab.
Both starters were extremely oily. The foie gras had a sponge-like texture, completely soaked in oil. The soft shell crab (fried) was served with a generic sweet & sour sauce and a very low-quality mayonnaise, which felt inappropriate for the dish.
For the main course, the fish of the day (sea bass) was again overly oily, with the taste and texture of frozen fish, accompanied by oven-baked potatoes that were partially undercooked. My wife ordered shrimp aglio e olio, which were literally swimming in sunflower oil, lacking balance and refinement.
Overall, a very unpleasant experience and far below expectations for a restaurant that presents itself as upscale. Unfortunately, it does not justify either its prices or its reputation.
We began with an octopus salad, fish soup, and grilled octopus—each dish fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. For our entrées, we enjoyed a seafood risotto, perfectly seared tuna, and Swiss chard. Everything was cooked with great care and balanced seasoning.
Dessert, coffee, and wine were the perfect finale, rounding out a wonderful dining experience.
Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for top-quality seafood, great service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Will definitely return!
For starters we have ordered the king crab legs and the tartare plate, unfortunately the king crab legs were not as exciting as the main dishes. Tartare plate was pleasant and tasty enough. If not too hungry, the starters can be skipped.
Main dishes of grilled octopus and lobster pasta were amazing, would definitely order again!! The grilled octopus was amazingly seasoned, and the touch of the open fire grill taste added amazing tones. The lobster tail in the pasta was appropriate in ratio and quite tasty and texture was amazing too.
We have also ordered scallops which were quite delicious as well, main dish orders are 100% recommended.
We made reservations a week prior but had to share a table with random people with a small space between us, it didn’t really feel nice and could not properly enjoy the dinner we are having as it got awkward after some point.
