Portions are very generous!
We had chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and shrimp chow mein for the kids.
They did add a 10% “dine in” charge, but would not accept a tip in its place even when we insisted. We will definitely be back!
Give them a try. You will not be disappointed!
One thing that really stood out to me was the beautiful message on their door:
“If you don’t have money, talk to the owner , food will be provided.”
Such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture. It really shows the kind of values they run this place with.
As for the food, it was good for the price. The flavors were decent, but there’s definitely room for improvement in seasoning and overall depth of flavor. Still, for the cost, it was satisfying.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would come back again , mostly because of the hospitality and the positive vibe of the place.
Let’s not pass over the menu though – literally everything we had was great tonight: crispy chicken, crispy beef, steak fried rice, grand chowmein, spring rolls, Desi chai and a Lover’s Poison. They also were very direct about getting the spice level right the first time – something you just have to appreciate.
I’ve done dine-in and take-out multiple times and haven’t been disappointed once. It’s easily now one of my top local stops in Spring.
We tried one chinese dish and one Indian dish and both had great flavors, you’re able to customize the spice levels of everything as well to match your desires.
Definitely a place to check out
The only note i will add is it’s a small kitchen food time can be a little on the slower side to come out
We ordered two appetisers a chicken 65 and a gobhi Manchurian and placed next to each other they looked exactly the same and not only that they tasted exactly the same with the exception of the protein. While the flavours seem bold, they were a bit much like there wasn’t enough cauliflower but just tons and tons of sauce in the plate and the chicken seemed not freshly cooked. Overall, the appetisers didn’t really taste that good. For the main we decided to get the karahi chicken which was in a wok that stayed hot, but was super duper oily and we also got the daal makhani, which seemed a lot in quantity but was also okay. And this would be one of the very few restaurants where they don’t serve white rice with entree. When the entrees were exceptionally pricey than usual average. The kicker was when we ordered a sprite and got in H-E-B lemon drink. They didn’t take care of our bill after we shared that it didn’t taste anything like Sprite. Overall experience was subpar and definitely a pricey meal however I don’t think we will be back here again.
During Ramadan, they even offered a free iftaar with onion pakoras, Chicken 65 (so good!), and mango lassi. Everything was fresh and tasty. We ordered the haleem, and my son loved it so much he couldn’t stop eating it. The Chicken Lollipop was fantastic, and the Crispy Beef is a must-try—it’s crispy, flavorful, and just perfect.
On my first trip, we tried their Desi food, and it was really good too. The food comes out fast, and everything is nicely presented. The owner even came over to check on us, which was a nice touch.
The best part? The food is halal, so you can enjoy everything without any worries. The staff is super friendly, and the restaurant looks great inside—clean and well-decorated.
I’ll definitely be coming back here whenever I’m in Houston. If you’re looking for tasty halal food in a welcoming environment, Wok & Karahi is the place to go!
