My wife got a sandwich and it was decent but she said the vegetable soup was not palatable and didn’t exceed a single spoonful.
I was optimistic as mine looked good. The potatoes were warmed up from way earlier but this is a common practice and they were warm and edible. The eggs were fantastic, really. I don’t know if it was luck or skill but someone nailed it. That is the single bright spot. The biscuits were hard and crunchy and I tried but gave up. I was supposed to get gravy and figured that would soften them up. I caught the waitresses attention and I was unprepared for what arrived. At first I thought it was brown gravy…. well, it was brown but it was supposed to be breakfast gravy. I didn’t touch it and tasting it would require a triple dog dare. It appeared to be scraped from a discarded skillet and had 2 separate skins
I have attached a photo to prove “sorry, we are out of gravy” is preferable to what was served. I’d be ashamed to present that to someone.
The other reason I’m knocking off 1 star which is unfair to this particular location as it’s a brand issue is the menu changes. Removing the Cobb Salad and Turkey Bacon Melt should be a crime. I already let go that the Chicken Stir Fry, Frisco Salad and the Bow Tie Chicken Pasta and Spaghetti and Meatballs is a mere memory but Bob Evans had the best Cobb salad on earth, entirely because of their elite, legendary blue cheese dressing which is not a brand you can buy in the store or they even sell….and I’ve tried to replicate it myself but it’s not even close… I am a blue cheese connoisseur and the Cobb loss still hurts. Sure they still have the dressing, but the dressing pairs perfectly with the Cob salad..Turkey Melt? Gone. Bow Tie pasta or any pasta dishes? Gone. Stop trying to be trendy Bob keep with what has always worked….Look at what happened to Cracker Barrel..The last reason for losing 1 star is the lettuce on the Wildfire chicken salad…It used to be and sometimes is an iceberg mix and half the time I receive it this way…But the other half I get more a mix of salad greens, which does not pair well with the Wildfire Salad..the menu does not annotate which kind of lettuce and the Wildfire salad is one of my favorites unless it ocmes with that green mix
Also, the app deserves side-eye because it allows zero customization. Want cheese on a sandwich? Absolutely not. Although not part of my rating as most people complain about tipping, but I on the other hand don’t expect anyone to work for free…So I wish someone would explain the tipping setup? It is confusing enough to make you feel bad for everyone involved because nobody should work for free…Does the server get part of the tip? Does it all go to the driver? Both rely on tips but theres only one place to add a tip…I seriously had to hand my driver $10 worth of scratch off tickets because I was faced with this conundrum once not having any cash… So either the drivers are getting a 50 percent tip or both tipped employees (driver and server) were tipped.. I never know?
Otherwise delivery is on point…, Bottom line: if you want food that shows up correct, tastes how you expect, and doesn’t ruin your night, with all your items in the bag this is the place. Bring back the Cobb (or even the Frisco salad) and I’ll gladly give 5 stars.
And yes, this review is long because “food was great” “Food is bad” tells me nothing, especially if the reviewer thinks Olive Garden is fancy or unaware thermodynamics not the restaurant caused the delivery food to arrive at room temp..Details matter.
